OS Daily Tuesday 21st April

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Tues 21st April. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.

Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning. Not much from me. Behind schedule today as I have to go to Exeter for a training course.
Manged to cut the grass yesterday and also my hand on a broken glass in the sink. Great hurts too.
Have a great day....

Good Morning N9eav & all to follow - ouch to the hand N9eav - hope it heals asap.

Very misty here today so hopefully that means loads of sunshine later. The forcast is good so will be line drying again today.

When the kids are off to school will get the seedlings out and see whats happening with them. Will then clean the kitchen worktops & floor and get on with some office work.

Have written myself quite a comprehensive to do list and hope to get through it. Leftover chicken will be cooked with rice for dinner tonight.

Have a great day & I hope you all get sunshine.

Morning N9eav and all to follow.

N9eav and Beth, ouch, take care of those fingers xx

Looks like another nice day today, not sure I have any washing, but will get the dogs bed done if not.

Going to have a quick tidy round, this morning, get the dinner marinading, we are having sticky lemon chicken noodles, recipe from on here somewhere. And then I am going to do an hour on the wii fit and get out in the garden :T.

Lots to do out there, the grass needs a cut, corgettes and lettuce to pot on, strimming, and carry on with my continual flight against Mr Squirrel, who keeps digging up my onions

Spoke to the estate agents yesterday, we are aiming to get my house on the market by the middle of june, due to the huge redemption fee my mortgage company want to charge me  so its put us back a little bit, but hey ho.

    Hugs where needed,

Halight please let us know if you are ok, getting very worried now xxx

    Have good days all xx

    Morning all,
Well, I wonder what dangers await me in the garden today, think I might hire a suit of armour. SMOKY, Ouch that had to be painfull, what with N9EAV that makes 3 off us.

I've pulled some stuff out of the freezer for a BBQ tonight, might aswell enjoy the weather whilst we can. Just baking some garlic bread.
Only plan to do bedrooms today because I must put a coat of weatherproof on the garden furniture, rear windows and doors. Mmm, that means ladders.
DH will be raking out joints in the out building as he is neither use nor ornament in the garden, his gardening skills stop at mowing the lawn.

Off for a browse with another coffee. Have a good (and safe) day all.

Hubby & I are off to work in a sec, Hubby's had cooked breakfast, I've had cornflakes & the lodgers been fed too. I've made the pack ups, I'll pop back at lunchtime to let the lodger out.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Good morning guys,

Gorgeous day outside again. A small amount of wasing is on and I will hang it out when it's done, just going to make the beds and then the ironing awaits. I have 3 horizons that were sky +'d weeks ago so will watch them whilst I am at it.

I pulled some chiken breasts marinanded in bbq sauce out of the freezer last night and I think we will have those for tea with baked pots and salad. The pasta I intend to have for lunch sat in the garden if it remains nice and sunny. This afternoon I will get stuck in to my pennies book and then re do some of the forecasts for this year.

Welcome buggalugs, nice to see a new face.

Pen-pin, hugs to you today, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. xxx

Gentle hugs to all in need today.

Beth - even though it was many years ago I still have the scar.

    Smoky. xxx

    Morning all,

I've had DGS here today. We baked jam drops this morning, cleaned the path which he loves to do. Keeps him busy for ages, hose, soft broom & squirty detergent & let him at it. :D Washed Benny as well. Played army men & all mine were captured & sent to prison. Went visiting this arv & his little playmates who he was going to play with were fast asleep. His Mum picked him up at 3pm to go to the Dr's for his booster shot. He told me he was going to be brave. Bless.

DH did some work in the shed and yelled to me to throw him the camera. This is what he found when he opened up one of the drawers looking for something. He then tried to get rid of it and it's still in the shed. I was only in there the other day getting the mower out. *shivers*. :D

    <hugs> Smokey, N9eav & Beth.
HH I read your post as sec hubby had cooked breaky. Sec as in second. :D

Well off to get tea on. DH brought home a few bits of rhubarb from the markets (free :D) so stewed them & having with custard for dessert tonight.
Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Good morning,

Looks like another lovely day I've got one WM load pegged out & waiting for the next one to finish. I've got some self seeded Himalayan Honeysuckles to pot up ready for a spot in the back garden. It grows like wildfire for me and has purple & green leaves, white flowers & purple berries in the summer so its a pretty plant. From the original one that I had there is now 7 in existence ;) My friend, next door neighbour & parents have some.

Some news - DS1 (who I'm looking after as his parents threw him out) met up with his Mother yesterday for the first time in 5 months. It seemed to be very polite & cordial but he was quite upset & edgy last night, which we expected really. I'll talk to him more later on today when we're alone. She made no mention of him going home apart from saying that it was better if they could get on without living together. I'm not surprised by anything that's said to him now, sadly.

My Dad got on very well at the doctors also. He's waiting for an appointment with a cardiologist for treatment with either a pace maker or lasering of the affected electrical parts of his heart. He isn't doing much but is pottering in the garden & is happy so we'll wait and see. I just hope that there is no more 'funny do's' before he has his treatment. There shouldn't be as the G.P. told him he should have an appointment up at the hospital within 2 weeks.

Dinner this evening is down on the menu planner as fish, mash & beans but I think I'll re-jig that as it's too hot for mash :D

I hope that everyone has good days. ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) where needed.

    Morning all,

Wasn't it lovely yesterday? Looks like another nice day, must hang out my washing and go for a walk.

I'm off to the hairdressers this morning. I'm after a Judi Dench type cut (only not grey). Last time I asked for one the poor hairdresser hadn't a clue who I was talking about so I just said 'short please'.

I'm also going to buy a growbag. I have some freebie salad seeds so I'm going to give them a go in a growbag and hope I can keep the slugs off. My mum says vaseline will do the trick -any other ideas?

I'm not sure about tea tonight but I think it'll be meatless. Possibly baked lentils or a lentil salad with feta and peas:think:

Might bake my bread today if I have time.

Mustn't forget to buy toothpaste today. Mustn't forget to buy toothpaste today. Mustn't forget to buy toothpaste today.

    We've run out of toothpaste:D
