:hello: I'm back! We've been to see my DBro and his OH in southern Germany - we left home last Sunday and got home y'day evening. We've had a lovely time and eaten far too much lovely food! I missed you all though! I can't imagine catching up with the whole 8 days' posts but will read yesterday's at any rate. DS came with us by car, but flew home on Saturday with DBro (who was heading to our Auntie's funeral in Somerset - I wasn't able to go as we were stil driving home y'day so DBro represented both of us.), and when we got home DS had hoovered the whole house and replaced the leaky inlet valve in the dishwasher:j
We stopped off in Metz for 2 nights on the way back and spent Sunday having a gentle stroll round and sitting outside cafes drinking coffee and eating ice cream:D (and, in my case, Quiche Lorraine, as we were in Lorraine so I wanted to try it on its home ground - eeh, it were good:D)
No sign of a new job for DSIL yet, but hopefully something will turn up soon.
When we got home all our bluebells were out - a welcome surprise when i went to hang out the first load of washing!
All for now, I'm off to catch up0 -
Morning all,
Not so warm here to-day, but sun seems to be on its way so here's hoping. Yesterday was so beautiful and we had a lovely red sunset last night.
Hope all injuries are improving to-day...OH decided to tidy pampas yesterday with no gloves on so there was blood all over the place...silly man.
Aussie....I love Australia, but glad that I live here where there are no snakes...thanks St Patrick!
Treated OH and myself to a croissant and cappuccino each in hospital coffee shop when I dropped him off for day hospital....€8.88 so I will not be doing that too often.
Bread proving, going to make couple of Weetabix cakes and maybe some brown scones to fill up oven. No idea what is for dinner, OH has his in hospital so just DD3 & 4, DGS2 and me....might do 'bits' to use up stuff from freezer.Have taken in some of the clothes I left out all night to make room for wash which is on. Plan on attacking some of the docks that seem to be taking over my herb bed, not fit enough to spend much time at that but every little helps!
Hope that Halight and turfy6 and anyone else MIA are ok
Hugs to all in need or want....I have lots of TOOTHPASTE if you need some Thriftlady

Good morning all
Aussie :eek::eek: How will you ever go in the shed again? Do you know what type of snake it is, is it poisonous??? To think I complain about spiders in ours :rotfl::rotfl:
Another beautiful day here, so plenty of washing to go out on the line. One load finished. Just stripped the beds and now have that whooshing round in the machine. Got to take advantage of drying weather when it comes along
Planning on getting out into the garden today so will have to cover myself in sunblock as it's really very sunny. The grass and weeds are growing like, well weeds actually :rotfl:I really want to try and redesign the garden this year. No doubt I'll end up like all the other years, realise the work involved and decide it's fine as it is:o
Got a chicken to roast for dinner. DS3 is coming, so it will be the full roast dinner. Why did I promise him one  Oh well, once it's in the oven it largely takes care of itself, and I will earn about a million brownie points:D
(hugs) for the poorlies, and sad. Take care of yourselves.
edited to add: Welcome back ivyleaf :j:D Glad you had a good trip. You've got good drying weather today and tomorrow according to the forecast.;)You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Got toastie ingredients for lunch today and its egg chips and beans tonight. Freezer is just about empty which is good. Found a new pack of puff pastry and a tray of 10 slices of lorne sausage so think I could attempt some sort of rectangular sausage rolls perhaps

Huggles to those in need, Happy Birthday to Lame Wolf for yesterday. Neav, look after the hand!
Just agreed a 'car swap' with my Mum:j She has a newer model of my car and as they don't use it very much I am giving her mine with a lump sum payment:D I wanted to change my car for a while but those car show rooms are so expensive so Dad & Mum Autos got a call:rotfl:better finance deal too!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
:hello: to grandmasam
Have hung out the washing, Panny is whirring and dishes are done.
Might just parboil some potatoes to save time later and reassemble the pasta in an oven dish wih extra sauce and cheese ready to bake.
Lovely and peaceful to be alone for a while, usually it gets hectic when more than two of DDs are home.
Nipping to kitchen to spring into action and look as if I have been slaving away for hours.
Hug to all and see you later"This site is addictive!"

Maybe you could cut the slices into fingers, and stack them in a heap?0 -
