How long do you think it will take you? My niece is doing the half marathon. Are you going to be wearing anything to make you stand out in the crowd, so on Sunday morning when I'm lying in bed I can spot you?

I am aiming for between 4.5 and 5 hours.....which probably means between 5.5 and 6 hours
I will be wearing black leggings, a white t-shirt with a dark pinky coloured "Mencap" team running vest with my name on the front.....
No womble costumes or dinosaur outfits for me :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Well.......I opened the local newspaper to see a big article announcing that my OHs boss has entered into a "consultation period" with two of their areas, obviously with a view to closing down. Whilst OH is not in one of those areas, I can't help feeling that it may be him next - he has not been there long, so he wouldn't get any sort of pay off etc.
So, I have started looking at the SOA to see whether we could manage on one salary in the short term if needed at short notice, and of course the answer is a resounding "NO"......so I have to think a bit about how to play it "just in case".
Of course, it may be that I am jumping to conclusions, etc, but I don't want to be caught out when there are signs there to be taking notice of.....
If nothing else, it is making me focus my attentions a bit onto what needs doing.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Fingers crossed it won't affect your OH but I would be worried too and at least while you know this information you are ahead of the game so to speak.
I know you don't want a student again and I can see why but how much would you lose in the next year if you don't take one? Considering the amount of your original debt it does feel like you are on the home strech now so could you bare one last year of a student to make sure you rid this debt as soon as possible?0 -
A student brings in about £4000 so it is good money.....but even that just brings the DFD forward by 6 weeks, so in the grand scheme of things it is not ultimately going to make a huge amount of difference.
That's the problem when you owe such big sums of money - even having good amounts coming in doesn't make a huge difference!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
It may just be 6 weeks but how easy is it to replace that £4000? Dont mean to sound harsh a student doesnt sound like much fun.:j0
