Happy new diary!
I can absolutely understand the wish not to have a student stay again and think this is a pivotal point in your thinking and your debt-busting journey. I have to admit there are times on your journey when I've wanted to scream at you to drop the debt-busting as it's appeared so all consuming. To read about your recent break and your forthcoming family holiday plans now wonderful. A couple more months paying debt for taking time with your family now, that's priceless.
Just a couple of ideas: Can you put in a hardship claim for the reclaiming of bank charges - just thought this might clear the Egg card.
And quite seriously, have you thought of getting this diary published?
I think Martin could help you out with this MARTIN - ARE YOU READING THIS?? :money:
If I think of anything helpful I'll add it, but I just wanted to say hello on your shiny new thread! PS: The offer made over the last year to do your ironing still stands (really). I can pop round one day in June
As I'm sounding as baarrkking as Shaun  I'll sign off
PS: Good luck for Sunday0 -

beanie - each student comes for a full school year, so they arrive at the end of August and leave after exams in June. Last year we also took in summer school students so we didn't get any sort of break from it really.
It may be that we give up the longer term student next year and have a couple more summer school ones instead. I still need to do the figures.
Hiphouse - shout away! However, after 8 years or so of bumbling along, the debt never went down - a couple of years of real effort and it has made a huge difference, so I dare not let up too much!
As for hardship, I am sure we wouldn't qualify - we are both working and don't claim any benefits etc, so surely they won't entertain the idea. We are skint, and there is never any money left, but the bank won't see it like that if there are two salaries coming in, surely?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
