    Granada is also an option.

I gather one of the Cardiff flights only had 7 seats booked on it so not surprising they cancelled it.

I've just come back froma Almeria & flights out & back were only 85% full. Also, Ryanair are doing flights out at £1.79 (£30odd after tax) for the very end of Aug, beginning Sept. Great if you are looking for a bargain but not so good if you're hoping the flights will be continuing
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Faro to Almeria seems a heck of a long taxi ride across Spain!
  • For those still fighting to get their credit card fees back I received yesterday the £28 I was waiting for, so keep fighting. Their are some very good example letters on this forum, adapt them to your requirements, send letters recorded delivery and be a little patient. In my case they tried refunding one lot of charges ' as a gesture of goodwill' while acknowledging that I bore no responsibility for the cancellation. As far as I am concerned that provided the argument for refunding all the charges. Remember this service never started and I maintain the customer was paying for a research operation into the amount of interest there was in this service.

I've read all your posts egarding the cancellation of the Cardiff to Almeria flight and I'm desperate for some advice.
I originally booked 5 flights for my family from Cardiff to Murcia. Then BMI baby announced its new route to Almeria. This flight was much better for us so I changed the flights from Murcia to Almeria
I paid a £250 fee to make the changes (£50 pp to make the return changes), i paid the difference in flight fare which was approximately £30 each and a total of £70 credit card fees. The total cost I paid for flights and changes and fees total £900.00 (this includes the original murcia flight, the airline fee to make changes, the difference in air fare for the change of flights and credit card fees)
then BMI cancelled their cardiff to Almeria route .... great! they've refunded the price of the flight only.... despite paying £900 in total they have given me £580 back stating that credit card fees of £70 are non refundable and the £250 fee to make changes is non refundable. I am now £320 out of pocket with no flight!!!!!!!!
Surely they can't do this to me???? I really need some help to fight this - can anyone please help???
Just read your story properly lolalola and I can understand your frustration. Because we relied on this service starting the replacement flights we had to book cost us a couple of hundred quid more plus extra travelling costs. However, you also paid transfer fees to a service that never started, and I suspect was never intended to start! I would maintain in your case that BMI are liable for the transfer fees and credit card charges. As I said in my previous post I adapted some of the examples from other peoples letters in this forum. I was very grateful for the info they provided.

Faro to Malaga alone is quoted by Google maps as 413km (4hours 22mins). The run from Malago to Almeria border is best part of 200km, takes almost 2 hours, I know I have driven it! Don't know what kind of transportation machine you got!
