Still waiting for the outstanding quote for the windows.

I had my gas and electric bill yesterday. I was so shocked at how much it has gone up. OH is an electricity hog but it has gone up massively and my monthly payments are going to have to go from £35 to £100 to pay off the deficit.

I am going to have to look at switching but also really need to look at ways of saving energy. All the light bulbs are energy saving and we havent' had the heating on much. I'm going to look into getting an energy meter to see if we can monitor the usage and start to log weekly/monthly on a website that saw mentioned here a while ago.

If it's not one thing, it's another (insert rolly eyes smily here!).

It's only 8.45 but I am seriously contemplating bed! I have to go to work tomorrow to catch up on a few things before I take a few days off. I had planned to stay late but the systems went down. Hope that they are back up and running tomorrow.

Hey urg, hope you managed a nice early night last night. I contemplated going to bed around 9pm but stupidly stayed up as usual.

Bet looking forward to your days off, I'm off for a week at the end of September, cannot wait.

Oh, and congratulations on being debt free yet again xx

    morning!

Had a bad night's sleep but thankfully not feeling awful!

Lots of good things today! DH's sister had a baby boy overnight so am officially an aunt!

We are also off on short break today until Wednesday which will be nice.

Better get up and finish packing - might also stick on the last load of washing.

Stomach a bit sore today - hope it sorts itself out!

So a busy week now leads to a busier weekend! What frustrates me even more is that i have just sat around this evening and done nothing. Yes, I probably needed the rest, but I will now be running around all weekend trying to keep up.

I also have to admit that i was rather naughty on our short break - I have been wanting a new fountain pen for a while and decided to treat myself for becoming debt free. It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing. The only problem is that the trip was rather pricey and I will now have to work hard to pay off my new pen.

Oh well, there's nothing like a challenge! I hope to be able to find some time on Sunday to take advantage of the free listing to EBay a few items.

Getting on to my goals if getting the flat sorted: I have now received all of the quotes in for the new windows. OH and I need to to some more research and I hope to place the order by the end of the month. Lots of number crunching to do to make sure it works as hoped!

Better get to sleep to get up early to get through the ironing mountain and deal with a couple of piles of stuff. My flat really does need a good declutter!

    Hope you are all ok,

Does indeed sound busy urg, but as you say, an evening of doing nothing was probably needed - and hopefully it will give you the additional energy needed to tackle the weekend!

    Morning!

I'm awake early so will hop up in a minute and take advantage of the extra time and get a few things done. I'm on a mission to not waste too much time at the moment. I do procrastinate and sometimes really just need to get on with it.

The weekend was indeed busy but we had to learn to say no too otherwise DH and i get no time for us. Coming from a big, extended family can be very hard!

Yesterday was a good day. As well as being a second NSD, I am in the last stage of my current job. The person i had been covering returned yesterday and we start a 4 week handover period. I have really enjoyed this job and will be sad to move on but in many ways this job is also associated with a majorly difficult part of my life so In a way I am glad it is coming to an end.

I have booked my colour analysis for the start of next month - it is expensive but I see it as an investment in me!

Right better get up and in bathroom before my lodger gets in there. Have a great day all!

    Hi All

Not posted in a while but have been reading my favourite diaries.

Had an awful weekend. I don't even want to go into it! It has however left me drained both physically and emotionally.

I feel like I have been losing my way alot. Lots of time and energy being spent on things that are not as important as the things I want. I have been reading MG's thread but guess I am not ready for some of the approaches but the ideas behind it are good.

A couple of interesting moneyish things - one of the guys who quoted me for the windows who was too expensive is able to come back with a better price. He is a local guy who runs a small business so I am hoping it will be good and then I have choice to make my decisions.

We have been given leftovers and that has been worked into the mealplan. I think we can get away with not doing a shop until the weekend so hopefully can eat out the cupboards and fridge for the rest of the week.

I'm trying to get back on the MSE bandwagon as once I get the windows I'll be rushing to pay those off the 0% deal to get the best deal.

I think I need to rest for a while and give myself some space to think.

    Hope you are well,

    urg x x

I'm very tired so will head to bed

    Thanks Swinstie,

I am knackered! I couldn't sleep last night, and then woke up at 5am! In the end I got up, showered, sorted the filing ready to be filed and then went to work a litttle early - I even had time to get a coffee on my way. The best bit was that as I walked to the office in the beautiful sunshine i found £10!!!!!!!!

I then managed to leave my keys at work and everyone was out tonight - the good thing is that I have a spare set at an uncles down the road. I think it was meant to be as I needed their comfort and love after the horrible weekend!

I have pulled out a notebook and started to list things that I want to achieve in the flat if I want to be in a position to sell and move on next year and be in a position to start the next phase in our married life.

    Waving to you all!

Am watching Ramsey and hoping that the veggie Indian restaurant wins - it's the sort of food that I love!
