Morning!
Back still sore but I find that being on my feet is less painful than sitting on my bum.
Dad and Bro are coming over for a trip to the local farmers-style market and then lunch which will be nice.
Was up early and still sorting wedding photos. We let others see them and they are not in the order they should be which makes it difficult to put into an album for selecting the final album! Oh well - at least they are finally going into the album(s) so I can get rid of the boxes of photos! More decluttering!
Today's list:- Ironing
- Scratchies
- Photos in albums
- More thank you cards - at least 10
- Decluttering - 10 items
- Grocery shopping
- knitting - if i can sit for long enough
- college catalogue
- sign contract
- pampering myself

Hey urg,
How's the back today? As for the de-cluttering, please come and help me, my house is getting worse I swear! xx0 -
Hi All,
Still don't seem to have time to write in diary every day. The decluttering is going very slowly. I really do have a mental block on it. I am getting rid of things but often very small things that don't make a huge difference. I still have a huge 'what if' complex. I will still try and plod on.
Have been sneezing all morning so the pollen count is high - need to get up soon and get started on my day but wanted to start with a list!- Washing
- Ironing
- Clean bathroom
- Clean kitchen
- Continue with thank you cards
- Shopping list
- Grocery shopping
- Filing
- Declutter 10 items
- List 3 items on ebay
- Walk 30 minutes
- Plan meals for the week
There's so much mord I need to do but I will concentrate on these!
Have a good day

Swinstie - thanks for asking about my back. It's still a little sore if I sit for too long or in the wrong position. I suppose it means that I can achieve more if I am not sitting on my rear end!

That still is a lot to do...have a good day x0

Just thought I'd sneak on at lunchtime and do some thinking!
I was up early this am (not like me at all on work days!) and have been thinking. I should be debt free by the end of this month which is fantastic and I am pleased. However, as always, there is a BUT!
Getting to this point has got me thinking. While being on this debt-free journy I have had to put up with not being able to improve my flat. Now that OH and I are married I am really starting to a) get itchy feet and b) get frustrated with the little idiosyncracies with my flat. We can't move until next year when OH has finished off paying some of his commitments so I am in a position where I am stuck here for at least 12 months and I don't think that I will be able to cope. There's part of me that thinks getting in new windows, kitchen and bathroom will be the solution to all my problems but I wonder... maybe it's the project and sense of purpose I need.
I also really need to get the flat into order and really deal with my 'stuff' I have so much of it and it waits for the 'what if' or for when I get around to it. My flat really does need decluttering - but so do I! I have a full wardrobe of clothes and a whole bag of 'when I fit into them' clothes. I just can't let them go because I am unhappy with my size and I don't know what I need. I think some time reviewing what I do have with the capsule wardrobe idea might be very useful. I had done well with the weight loss earlier this year but it is slowly creeping back up again. I avoid Shred because my flat would shake every time i moved (ahhhh) but I don't even do the walking that I promise myself I should do every day - 30 mins per day is not much!
Another side of me is starting to think about going back to my voluntary job. I am a bit nervous about this as the way I spend my time has changed - i am now married and OH lives at home; we also spend a lot of time with my dad which is absolutely necessary at the moment. I am going to start thinking about going back but with this organisation, it is all or nothing. If I can't give commit then I have to step away. I like feeling of doing good deeds, and I really do enjoy it, but I also have to look out for myself. I am also going to be entering other busy period in my life as I start a new job, and then we will be getting a new house, starting a family....
As I write all of this down it is clear that I am ready to start re-thinking some of my plans and goals and dealing with some of those things that are making me angry and unhappy. I lost a lot of this year in grief and trying to get back to and I also have to accept that I have achieved a lot in spite of all this: maintaining my DFW journey, getting married, doing really well in my secondment in spite of everything, getting a new job that will pay about £200 pm more from October. It's not a bad list at all but as we are coming to the start of a new academic year - I think I need to review my goals and restart 'My Best Year Yet' planning.
All ideas/feedback very gratefully received.

Well Urg, it seems to me that you have got all your plans there just ready to put into action.
Have a little brainstorming session and see how you can tackle them.
Well done on the debt freeness looming up- that will be a biggie for you and you will need time to think things through
As for doing the flat up-have you looked on the shabby chic thread on oldstyle? Lots of lovely ideas for things on there-and you will get a buzz from doing them.
I hesitate to add about buying the dreaded shred-but it does work for me, and i am toning up and losing weight. It has boosted my confidence in my levels of fitness and i have found out what i can achieve rather than stopping myself from achieving if that makes sense.
The clothes in your wardrobe will help with this-as i have now got back into my old work clothes-mega frugalSo i do have a size i want to aim for, and aiming for the clothes in that size range and going from there.
You have achieved a lot- so well doneBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Thanks Bob,
I think I am having a bit of a soul searching day today! Was at work til really late but am home now and am going to get started on 'My Best Year Yet book'. I think I am ready for it. It can be quite emotional but I enjoy the outcome and having a focus.
I will also pull together a few phone numbers of suppliers i have collected over the last few years - I think I will get window quotes first, will then get quotes for the kitchen and bathroom. I will then get the estate agent in to work out what work (if any) should be done/prioritised. If he suggests doing nothing then I will formulate a savings plan!
Need to catch up ona few diaries and will then do a bit of my book before bed. Need to get an early night tonight!

Just popped past to say, what a lot you've acheived and I wish you all the happiness and luck you deserve. Great stuff on husbands, jobs and getting debt free, bah to bad backs.
Many hugs - my mse time is much curtailled these days - so don't get much time to catch up but read when I remember!
I'm a big fan of walking, I'm trying to get out every lunchtime for half an hour - sitting at a computer all day, isnt good for my weight!
Great idea to get an objective opinion from the estate agent regarding what to do in the flat and prioritise - x
