    Hi Taxi and BOB

It is really quite strange... In some ways the hard part will be working to a budget. I am still trying to master that!

I have spent today planning. Not budgets but what I want to achieve for the next year. It has been interesting but it gives me something to focus on and get working on.

I may still tweak it but it really does give me a starting point.
    MY BEST YEAR YET 2010-11

    Guidelines
    1. I will Do It Now!
    2. Activity leads to health and prosperity
    3. Make time for me and DH

    New Paradigm
I have the time, knowledge, ability, discipline and stamina to achieve anything I set my mind to

    Major Focus
    Home

    Top Ten Goals
    1. Spend quality time with OH on a weekly basis.
    2. Spend quality time with Dad
    3. Private.
    4. Achieve the goals set in my new job.
    5. Spend time with family regularly
    6. Meet with friends monthly
    7. Manage my finances to
    a. Remain debt free
    b. Have a financial future plan (by Easter)
    c. Send my tax return for 2009/10 *(by 30/11)
    8. Be healthy (lose 2 stones) and active (10000 steps per day)
    9. Declutter the house by Christmas
    10. Remodel the house by Easter

I think i have talked about this process before in my thread and I find it really useful. Working in education means that I always think of the New Year starting in September!

I have also been thinking about doing some things to improve how I feel about myself. I have been unhappy about the way that I look for a long time and will avoid looking in the mirror. I have decided that one of the things that I will do to help me is to look to have a 'makeover'. I have been looking at doing a colour analysis and style review. I know it's money but I see it as an investment in myself - something I haven't done for ages.

I am pretty tired now - will finish watching this DVD and then head to bed. Will catch up tomorrow.

    Take care,

    Morning All!

Typical - it's a bank holiday here and I have been up since just after 5am! Have used the chance to surf on the net but would have preferred to sleep as we will be out today and don't want to get too tired.

Don't really know what's been up with me this week - have not felt 100% at all. Went to see
the GP earlier this week and he couldn't find what the problem was. I know I am feeling tired, run down and even a bit stressed at work as we get to the start of a new year.

I'v also been getting very stressed about my weight which has gone up. It doesn't help that we have been eating out a lot and that DH's mum sends food even when there is plenty in our fridge. I am getting really angry about it as she insists I leave her house with food she gives me but I end up have to throw food iVe bought away. She can't be told!

Rant over. I'm not getting back to sleep so will get up. can't really do anything around the flat as lodger has friends over
and everyone else, being normal and sensible, is sleeping!

I will get up and go for a walk. It's DH b'day today so will be out with him today!

    Have a good day everyone!

Hope you have a nice day with DH.

Re all the other stuff, I would say pick one thing and focus on it, rather than try and do everything at once, which will only burn up your energy rather than increase it!

So, for example, concentrate on what you want to do with the house - make a workable plan, and feel comfortable with it.

Or create a budget, work on it, tweak it, and be realistic about what you need to do to stay out of debt.

Or decide how to get control of your weight - what is it that makes you eat badly, eg boredom, habit, eating out too much - then tackle one of those things at a time rather than going all out on a diet.....

exercise - find something you can realistically incorporate into your day - is there an activity you can do with OH (apart from *that*) which will help satisfy the "us time" as well?

If you do one thing at a time, you won't feel so overwhelmed by it, and you should find that you are able to see results just as quickly and your energy levels increase as you make those positive changes!

    Thanks Hypno,

I've been think about what you've said - I agree that I need to focus - for me there is so much I want to change! That's where this concept has worked for me in the past - I suppose it's keeping all of the plates turning while you focus on the big trick!

We are on a day off today after a very busy weekend. We ate out loads and did some fun things. I love living in London - we went to see War Horse last night and it was wonderful. We've already started talking about what to seen next!

Today the plan is to work on the grand plan of getting this house nice and ready to sell next year!
I have a window guy coming to give me a quote today! I know it will be expensive but it will give me a much better idea of what to do next. I better write a list!

    - declutter and sort for one hour
    - ironing
    - washing
    - meal plan for the rest of the week
    - call 2 guys re quote kitchen and bathroom
    - call Estate Agent for house price estimate!
    - write report for work
    - sign up for local college course I San interested in
    - sign up for colour analysis and style make-over!
    - go for walk
    - possibly go to Lakeland to get some Easi-yo sachets (they are buy one, get the other half price)

As usual there is always more to do on the list!

    Have a good day all,

Gratefully received! It's quite nice planning. I actually have school exercise book that I use to keep up with ideas. Popped into b&q yesterday. Need to think about getting the kitchen designed as I have a very awkward space!

I may give them a call to see if they do house visits!

I think I'll get up now, get showered and dressed and then on to that list!

Have a good day and hope it warms up Hypno - I find the day after the weekend is worst at work because there hasn't been anyone in over the weekend.

Thank you Swinstie - it was a stunning day yesterday. We didn't get to go out for very long though:(!

We were able to get some quotes for new windows yesterday. Am expecting the final quote at the weekend and should be able to make some decisions. A warmer winter - I can't wait!!!!!!
I got quite stressed - we had one of the big companies over and did get a bit of the pressure sell but I am so glad thatI had OH there. The second quote has come out at a grand less. It may not be the exctly the same product but it is much closer to my forseen budget.

Yesterday was also my first of 8 NSDs. Today was not so good as I had to have coffee and a pastry at work and had lunch with my manager.

Better head off to bed - tomorrow is going to be a long day at work.
