Still sending hugs.Think it'sa very wise idea to stay away whilst you have a cold.

I agree with making a will putting things in order.I have funnily enough been discussing this with DH recently and will be doing that.I also need to teach him how our finances work as well as I take care of everything!!!

Well done on the weightloss..you are doing fantastically.
    Take care xx

It's been a while since I have had the chance to post. No real change with mum. Money is not great - I have been buying lunch and meals out a fair bit because it is hard to be organised. My sealed pot from last year has been a life saver as I have been able to use the change for parking at the hospital. I still think I'll make the debt free date for March as expected but I will need to tighten the old belt!
I celebrated my birthday on wednesday and had the day off work so i could just relax and spend a bit of time with mum and OH. oh also bight me an iphone which I have been wanting for a while. I am using it now! I know it's not exactly DFW but it is something I have been wanting for a while.
    Hope u are all ok.

Glad to see you had a day off to relax a little.
Don't be hard on yourself about debt eating out etc as it's very hard to be organised in the circumstances.
How lovely of OH to buy you the i phone.

It's been a while since I last posted. I have some sad news. My mum passed away on Wednesday morning. She is no longer suffering and is so missed. Our culture means that there are lots of rituals and family around which is comforting but exhausting. OH has been wonderful and I M not sure how I would've coped wihout him. The funeral is tomorrow - she will be coming home forcthe last time. I miss her so much. Mon
Money hasn't been a focus at all these past few days - I want to pay something towards the funeral costs nad have had to buy things for the rituals.
Thank you to all my MSE friends for their support. I better get up and face the day.

I am so sorry, urg, but as you say there is no more suffering for her now. Little comfort, I know, when all you want is to have your mum back, fit and well, but I hope it provides you with some comfort.

All I can say, and this is based on when I lost my dad, is that there are NO RULES here - ok, you have rituals and things you may feel need to be done, but as far as YOU are concerned, you do what you need to do. If that involves staying in your pjs all day then do it, if it involves taking it all out on the housework, then do it.....rant, cry, feel sorry for yourself, whatever you need to do, you can do it because this is YOUR grief, and no one elses, IYSWIM.

Of course you will miss her - you are supposed to - and there are many many days of tears and "missing her" to come. Sometimes they will be days you expect, like birthdays or other special "feast days", and sometimes they will creep up and bite you on the bum when you least expect them.

There will not be a day that goes by without you missing her, and that will have other emotions alongside - anger at her leaving you, frustration of things that could have been different, etc etc, but over time, the pain will subside - honestly it will, even though you will continue to miss her, it will not hurt so much in due course.

Take care of yourself - I will be thinking of you tomorrow x

Oh urg, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum! She will be in a better place though. I agree with Hypno, everyone handles grief differently, when my dad died I was off work for 2 weeks as I couldn't cope, still miss him and will always. Sending you hugs for tomorrow xx
