Excuse the irnoning pile it will be done today pmsl and skirting boards etc need repainting as its just been decorated hence me posting hehe hope you like it cos i love me new kitchen xx

I love your wall-covering - is it that washable stuff (sorry - can't remember what it's called - brain cells need another cup of caffeine to wake them up). That white/black/pewter is brilliant. We now need to find some kind of wall-covering for our kitchen/diner but I need some inspiration before committing myself.

In my last place, I decided that I wanted something bright and 'sunshiney' for the kitchen and got a tin of steam resistant paint from Wilkies in a lovely shade of yellow! Well - I thought it looked lovely. OH and DS1 did the honours and then laughed their socks off and said it was like drowning in a jug of ASDA custard (not even Birds)!!!!! Had to get a colour chart and find a contrasting colour for accessorising - and it suggested dark blue. Sounded daft to me but I went along with it, dug out some china with dark blue patterns to stand upright on a shelf - and surprisingly it really worked. The dark blue seemed to tone down and break up that vast sea of yellow :D .

  • Love your kitchen. I am in the middle of the preparation of a major kitchen refurb starting next week. I have taken the before photos and hopefully can let you see the afters once it is done. My kitchen is a fairly small gallery type one but hopefully utilising space best we can.

Also getting huge flooring done post kitchen plus downstairs interior doors. Still don't know what decoration will be required - will wait until work has been done.

  • It's lurvely....!!! My brother has now put a cream venetian blind for me too. On Monday I will have new laminate flooring done as well. I absolutely adore my touch control ceramic hob - no horrible gas rings to clean any more which still look a mess. My kids are loving cake baking out there now - can't stop them, lol - can you see the pink swirly cake stand in the pic?!
