Hi Primrose,
That might be how YOU feel, but each one of us has different means, different priorities, is at a different stage in their lives.
You know, you would be the only person who would mind, noone else would cast criticism, but just know that you are doing what you can for your family in the OS way, to the best of your ability.
I can tell you that right now my kitchen looks absolutely nothing like it does on the pix that I posted!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Not posting a photo of my kitchen. I'm afraid it has a very much "lived in" look and is definitely not fit for a magazine cover. Elvis - I'm very envious of your kitchen. Do you actually cook in it? It looks too good to be true.
Don't feel like that Primrose. Kitchen's should be lived in. I just happen to have a seating area in mine so it's more like a family room where I entertain as well. It's also been my hobby for 6 years to collect bits for it and I did tidy up a fair bit for the pic I posted. It should be the heart of your home and that's all that really matters.

Primrose, Haribo is absolutely right, your house is your home and not a showhome, I bet almost everyone on this thread tidied their kitchen before posting a pic on here. I certainly did, my kitchen looks like a bomb has dropped just now and with Donald the duck in the oven just now, it smells and the smoke detector keeps going off. I will have to clean the oven later...any takers?

Primrose that is not Elvis' kitchen - it belongs to google.... he/she has copied the pic. It is a magazine cover kitchen thats all, not a real home kitchen. Your quite right Primrose - too good to be true."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. our kitchen is tiny and we haven't got the funds to have a brand new one so we are just doing it up by adding some more cupboards and painting the old ones we already have to match.Today I made new curtains & tiebacks, and matching tablecloth and cushion pads for my chairs from an old set of curtains that used to be in our bedroom, they were to light for in there but perfect for the kitchen
Our table was a bit big for the space we have so my clever Mr Big has made it into a dropleaf table and now we have more room at that end of the kitchen too.We bought a cheap glass panel interior door from Wickes and that lets lots more light in and makes it feel a lot bigger and smarter. Just need new wallpaper now(can't decide on one just now) and then I'll take a picture. I've loved all of the kitchens I've seen on here so far thanks for sharing them and inspiring us to sort ours out

That does have Cif in it at the moment. I bought it last year. When I started to do OS properly sometime in the new year (only a few weeks ago!) I mixed some stardrops/vinegar/water and now use that. I did a half bottle to begin with and have had to make a new bottle because I use it for everything! THe Cif has been relegated to the cupboard. I do have to tell people that my spray doesn't contain wee though LOL!
Kitchen may be seriously lovely, but is seriously messy as I have been doing stuff in there today. It's about to get worse, as pancake time approaches!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
