    Me too :)

    <sigh>

Not that there's anything actually wrong with my own kitchen - I even like it :)

But the grass always seems greener...

Oh Good G-d! Angelina M- That is a true artisan kitchen! You've had your units made specially for it! Its fab. I'm just going to stare at my bog standard B&Q style kitchen and feel disheartened. You and PurpleIvy have the bees knees of kitchens.
To have Miele cookers removed for industrial cookers- I'll have the old ones you don't want anymore!

I wondered about the steam oven. I had my other cooker for 21 years, doubt anyone would want that! It did serve me well though. Was a dual fuel. I decided that I couldn't justify the steam oven, but went instead for a unit with 2 full sized ovens. Each has grill, fan same features etc etc. Combination micro is useful when just 'us' and want a few wedges or something.

Things not quite finished here either Angelina. decorating not finished. Buildings regs chap said we have to have the cooker hood vented to the outside and not on recirculate as it is at the moment. That isn't finished yet, a shame we have to have it done as it will be ugly! They came back to finish sealing the glass splashback today.

    Sink? Check
    Work surface? Check
    Plastering still not finished? Check
Bare lightbulg hanging from ceiling? Check
Walls that need tiling 3 years after the kitchen was fitted? Check
    Sockets that aren't connected? Check
General air of this kitchen will never ever be finished? Double check :D

I bought the matching Miele ovens but then discovered this gaggenau one. I've only had the Miele for about five months so hubby isnt too thrilled. I'm going to try ebaying it as I have to get some money back!

PurpleIvy its not actually a steam oven as it browns and cooks like a traditional oven. Its like a commercial oven and you can add jets of steam when you fancy. I like pressing the button and watching it 'whoooosh' lol.

It is a lot of money, the units are solid oak and the whole kitchen cost more than my first house. But cooking is my thing, I dont drink or buy fashion (I live in old jeans) and I've waited twenty years to get this dream.... you only live once!

Yes, ours too, it's part of the old house and part new extension. The whole thing has cost several times what our first house cost.

As with you, I'm a real cook, it's really my thing. I love entertaining, even if it's just the family (we were 15 on Christmas day) there. We aren't extravagant in other respects, don't smoke, dh has the odd pint out with his mate or a bottle of wine at the w/e. I don't drink much at all. Normally about 1/2 unit per month!

Can't wait to have all the paint on and stuff sorted out!

I suppose I'm in my first house and good things come to those who wait. I can't complain that my first house came with a nearly new kitchen with built in dishwasher. I also have 2 fridges and freezers and whilst I don't have a pantry, I do have a whole cellar to store food in.
