  • I think it's Sporty Spice...she hasn't done a lot since the reunion..

    Poor lamb....
  • I don't understand the OP's post, how can his profession be "confidential"?? Am I having a blonde moment or is that just an excuse not to let us actually help him get a new job? Even if your job is illegal it's not confidential information! Why sign on if you don't want the money or a new job that much??

I agree with BananaramaMel, but if it is Sporty Spice, congrats on the pregnancy and if you could get the girls together for november its my sisters 18th and she loved you guys!!

I don't want to do it though :(

There There, poor you! Did that nasty man who gives you free money actually ask you to do something for it.

Sign off and then you can do what you want, if not, get on with it.

    You are mean Bobl :(

All I want to do is seek a job without going in some smelly charity shop, is that too much to ask?

Sillylittlejill, its just very complicated , I dont think you would be able to understand very easily, and its not part of the New deal topic.
  • Can't you just sign off? Or is Income Based JSA one of those 'entry' benefits that means you also automatically qualify for other stuff? I am genuinely interested. I've never met anyone so open about their refusal to do 'any' job before - usually it's all 'oh there's nothing around' etc!

JSA , Council Tax, Stamp paid , rent plus associated benefits free prescriptions etc.

Its not much really , but better than a kick in the arris.

I have only been on a job search for 18 months, its not like I have been on for years like some, I just need time. I have got into the habit of not working as well, you would not believe how hard small things like having to be some place become when your not used to it.

Well actually that is too much to ask. A lot of people have to buy their clothes from 'smelly charity shops', and maybe if you are not in that position you could lower yourself to help. It may also help you to get back into going out to work. Remember you are also in receipt of charity - from the tax payer.

  • Ah OK, well I guess financially you can't afford to sign off! My brother did the New Deal for Musicians but lives at home with our parents so just about scrapes by. He is now retraining to be a photographer (NVQs I think even though he has two degrees!) Have you thought about properly retraining? Is there any other field of work that gets you excited?

At worst though, the 2 week thing is only 2 weeks and frankly, much as people might not like it, there's little anyone can do to force you into a job.

Its not complicated at all .A simple search of your past posts answers everything.
If you wish to earn a living that way then do that ,don t sponge of society then earn more than most people who are paying you to stay at home.
Believe me im not anti how you make an income as my sig shows ,but to not work through it and to claim from others is not good ,come on you know this.

Thats very true, they cant force me.

I have looked at other jobs, but TBH, the kind of jobs available are generally min wage jobs on which I would not be any better of but would have all the hassle of having to go etc, or jobs that have to be advertised but need lots of stuff like phyciatric jobs in the NHS.

I guess I am just not a very motivated person really, I do have my name down for an allotment though, I think I would enjoy that, there is quite a social group down there, get me out of the house a bit.
