I am one of those who think OOT wedding dresses are a total waste. White wedding yes, but does not have to be megga. Mine was also made by a tailoress, who lived next door to my future DH and we bought the material and the making was our wedding present. That was 35.5 years ago! The day flies by so quickly, and how often do we get the wedding album out later, maybe one photo which rarely shows the dress in detail.

Even selling it later does not recover much.

Penelope penguin - hope you are feeling a bit better today

Doelani - welcome . Genuine sympathies you poor thing. Sounds like you have a lot on your hands, and nothing is going to change the past few weeks so maybe throwing yourself into OS and getting organised will help , if even to distract you a little. Sorry pet, it's easy to say the wrong thing so hugs to you.

Kate - nice to hear from you and make sure to get your rest. Think yourself lucky you have someone to snuggle ;):D

    LW
    - welcome back, sounds like a great days cooking! well done!

WS - Little bear stories are great! I have this little picture of him from reading every day. Im sure he is devine and gorgeously cute, but I think you also have a way with words - your posts always amuse me. The vision of you sitting with these high heels on :rotfl: You should definitely think of writing a book. ....

Ive had a rollercoaster day. Cue rant.

Have been really down in the dumps lately for various reasons. Got myself back on my feet and gave myself a good kick and started eating proper (no junk), and exercising on monday. Today was in pretty good spirits but then it all went down hill. Lots of work stuff, blah blah. Went to the dentist to get the last part of my crown put in. Long story short, I had to pay £90 for the blimmin crown. I pay £15 a mth in insurance, but no one told me that i have to pay extra when work is done "in the lab". Left the dentist in tears after reluctantly paying it on my credit card.

I have a much needed hair appointment next week, and now I dont even know if I can justify it. So, i did what any sane skint person would do , and went and spent £19 on food in marks. I must have went in at YS oclock! I relly argued with myself. Bought half a cooked chicken 1.50, mini chicken kievs, mini yorkshires, cream buns (diet, what diet?), burgers = all reduced. Stopped myself buying heaps of stuff by rationalising. Full price treated myself to jumbo bag of crisps and garlic dip which i will stuff in my face after the burger and chips i have for dinner. Oh and naughty onion rings too .

The burger and chips is a massive treat. A dinner from marks was so exciting. But I couldnt just let go and buy what I wanted, i HAD to look at the price per 100g. I wanted the really naughty skinny chips but they were the same price for half as many and my OS brain simply wouldnt let me buy the skinny ones

Took my colleague in a loaf of HM bread today to try. Im always going on about it, so i thought i would put my bread where her mouth is or something.

More exciting news is I started to read this book i got from a charity shop for £2 a few weeks ago. It is simply the best book in the world. Its "the complete kitchen companion - associated with British gas".

I literally have lay in bed every night reading it , grinning like a cheshire cat. It goes through everything from what different kitchen instruments do, how to prepare all types of vegs, types of flour, oil, pastry, everything you could need to know - and a lot some OSers possibly take for granted. I feel like im learning so much and its really inspired me. I didnt know you can bake eggs, so will try this weekend :D Its 1984 book, and very little is out of date. One thing interesting is portion sizes. Then it was 50g dry pasta per person, now the packets say 85 from memory?

Sorry, far too long a post. [STRIKE]Drinks[/STRIKE] Hugs for everybody

I think that Sybil writes a blog as I have heard her mention it. Maybe if you want to hear more of his adventures you could read more about *little bear" on there. icon7.gif

What a lovely day it has been here. The washing has been blowing outside all day and I have been doing a little gardening among the daily chores.
Tea was a delicious cottage pie with salad and plenty left for lunch on Saturday.

OH is at a meeting this evening so I am going to tackle some cross stitch I've been meaning to attempt for a while. :o

Big (((((HUGS)))) to all in pain or the doldrums. ;)
