HI, another horrible day weather wise. Today we're off to the local climbing wall (DS2 has never been before) for a bouldering lesson. Then we're going to visit a friend. Yesterday we went to Homebase for some plants as they have quite a few offers on at the moment. Then we went to visit Lakeland which opened at the weekend, it's a really nice big store, I bought a few bit and pieces but was really very restrained. We spent all afternoon finding the carpet on DS1's bedroom floor, I also discovered an amazing amount of odd socks and dirty clothes!
Idolikeadayoff - You have my sympathy, I had morning sickness badly right up until I gave birth with both my pregnancies. It's really annoying how you get told it stops once you're out of the first trimester. I used to find plain white toast helped, also some smells are worse than others.
Hugs to everyone who needs one0 -
Morning!
Well, I got up ages ago but not got round to doing anything yet (shame on me). Am on holiday today and tomorrow and have stuff to do.
I would like to do the following today:
Get sausages out of freezer for dinner tonight (sausage omelette)
Tidy the bedroom
Make the bed
Do more sorting for the Car Boot
not a major list but its a startLucylema x :j0 -
Morning all
Busy morning for me, I've been in since 6.30 as my mother is coming to visit today for lunch, so I have to get my work done before she arrives.
OH is on a conference call tonight so won't be home until late - so easy leftover quiche and bits for dinner as I made two yesterday, one sausage and onion and one pastryless with chicken and stuffing (with the frozen leftovers from the sunday roast).
have a good day all, and hugs to those that need them, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
I have just made american fluffy pancakes for DD's breakfast. they are not up yet so I sampled them- nomnomnom
OH wants to go to a large garden centre to have a look round, now i love doing this but it means we are guaranteed to spend money - just cant help myself in places like that hmmmm dilema will have to think about it0 -
Morning all.Gloomy, threatening to rain and very windy here.I wanted to go up to the local shops and go on the little market we have on Thursdays to stock up on veg and salad stuff, will see what its like after I've been on here.
Sunnyday-I do exactly the same as you, re walking the dog and bad hair.I don't know if its cos I'm now a 'certain age' but my hair reacts to any moisture in the air and I usually look a fright when I come back in.
I'm going to make some veg soup once I've restocked, think it will help to fill us up on our diet.I'll see if there are any going cheap in the Co-op,and I might call in the library, nearly read all my charity shop ones and need to drop them back off somewhere in the interests of decluttering.
My ex SisIL (still one of my best friends) came over yesterday to pick up the carpet cleaner she lent us,and have a chat and cuppa. She's been made redundant a few weeks ago which is why she was free during the day, nice treat for me to have a daytime chat.
Right,am going to go-its not raining yet so off to the shops.Have a good day everyone and hugs to those who need one.
Sunnygirl-pleased your dad is out and on his way home.

How do you make pastryless quiche?? Surely the insides would all run away without pastry to hold them in?0 -
Salopman - I used to live next to two unrelated tom cats that banded together to protect themselves from a psychotic kitty that used to wait until the tom cats twice her size was asleep, dash in, attack and dash out before the toms were properly awake. They used to sleep in shifts. As to little bear - yesterday he managed to get into a drawer that he hadn't been able to before and I went up after his nap to find him wearing a (fortunately unused) nappy cover on his head. I had tried cloth nappies, liked them but I couldn't stop them leaking. Well I haven't been able to convince him that the nappy cover is not the bestest toy hat in the world and so he is still in possession. I may try and get a photo for when LB is Penelope's daughter's age.;)
Not much in the way of old style here. I've got lamb defrosting for Persian stew - should be more doable than yesterday when LB was specialising in finding things he shouldn't.
Today is a bin bag day. I am not managing to get things to charity shops, ebay or recycling, or anything, but I just need to have less things in the house. So five minutes here and there will be spent wandering round with a bin bag, LB permitting. I'll let you know how I get on. It will be an incentive.
Hugs to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning all
Its an awful day here cold, drizzly, windy and just generally a miserable day.
Washings done and I have put it out under the back cover, at least it will have a blow, and you never know the sun might make an appearance later
Ordered the carpet yesterday, and decided to order for all 3 bedrooms instead of just the 1 thats ready, that way we only pay 1 delivery charge, and they will store the rest until we are ready to have it fitted.
Bonus is it all comes off the same roll so no probs with shades
Shop told us to ring after 9:30 to see when fitter was coming, OH had just picked up phone to ring and the doorbell went yep it was the fitter....
Fitter started at 9:40 and had finished by 10:15.....I couldnt believe he had done it so quickly, he said come and have a look make sure its all ok, well I am so pleased :j
Just got to get the stuff back in there now and we can start the 2nd bedroom
Fish, chips and mushy peas for Dinner tonight need something quick, as OH is off out to play snooker, and I will have a lovely peaceful evening.:rotfl:
Back later when I have read through
Anne

Hi floss,
I just make it in the normal way but without the pastry. I usually use a well greased non stick tin. It's great for lunchboxes. There's a thread here with some recipes:
