I don't think GMP will be interested as Haworth is not on their patch. I think it would be West Yorkshire Police."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

When the French had clamping problems the self help was a few drops of superglue placed, when not seen , in the padlock. Done enough times, by enough people and with a bug enough fuss soon removed that problem. Maybe we ought to take lessons from them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

You gotta like the French militant approach, haven't you, like setting fire to speed cameras, and the occasional mass torching of cars when some politician expects them to work one minute more than their 35 hours a week.

You are absolutely right and thanks for the correction; not being familiar with the area, I hastily (& wrongly) assumed Haworth was within the GMP area.
I have amended my earlier post.0 -

Picture the scene.....in the dead of a dark cold windswept night in Haworth:
Along comes a tractor... a chain finds itself around the lonely ticket machine...a few minutes later "Oh dear" it's being dragged along the road behind a tractor!!.
Next morning "poor" old Ted Evans is beside himself....somebody has done something illegal to him, (bitter pill isn't it Ted) he will have to get his henchmen to write out the tickets for now...but what a shame they probably cannot write.
Thing is of course because this is blighty this will never happen....just 6 pages on a forum saying how bad it is and what a blatant ripoff it is.
Moral of the story is DON'T USE the carpark...and don't think come Nov12 when clamping is made illegal it will be any safer parking there....I'm sure Ted is thinking up a cunning plan to continue fleecing the public.
Why don't the locals put up signs at the "Welcome" to Haworth ones pointing out that your day will be spoilt if you park in Changegate....something the local chamber of commerce/council should do..looking at the number of people who say they will never return.0 -

Oh that's such a good idea I believed it had happened for a minute! :T
You are right, it's long overdue that the locals FIGHT BACK.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

How about an anonymous call to the police telling them a bomb has been planted inside the ticket machine? The bomb squad could then come along and carry out a "controlled explosion" on said machine. Thus blowing it to smithereens. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

 Would be nice to see his machines blown to pieces, but I don't think it would be worth the time in nick for making the phone call!
I believe super glue or expanding foam can have a detrimental effect on machinery! Not that I am condoning such scandalous behaviour!
Problem is if the machines were out of order, he would probably clamp everyone. Bring on the clamping ban, when he will have to offer a service, his only enforcement will be issuing invoices, which a court can decide if they are legitimate, rather then some maggot with a clamp penalising people!0
