:j I have had 4 Thomson Top-Tv Pvr's in 15 months and they all kept on locking up or just freezing and unable to clear despite Top -up technicians help they even told me of a different model that they were trying out as an alternative. at least as I had bought them from Argos they had a no Quibble warranty to either replace or refund. I decided to cancel the Top-up TV contract as I am sure that some of the problems were caused byFairly open question this so all answers welcome...
What's the best value Freeview PVR? And where's best to get one?
Note: best value, not necessarily cheapest.
Thanks in advance!
corrupt recordings that they would delete which could be annoying if they were your favourite programmmes and I bought a Bush BTU250DTR for £99
for the main TV and a Bush BTU320DTR for £87, a better bargain for the bedroom TV and I have had no problems since.
P.S. I agree with the comments about the Humax PVR it is an excellent model but I will wait until there are more HD channels and then go to the
Freesat model it is cheaper than buying a Freesat TV. Richer Sounds are the best place for the lowest prices other than E-bay.0 -

i think what i need is freeview recorder/dvd player combined.
would this do the job? it says freeview in the title but the techno-babble confuses me! apologies, im a total techno-no-brain...!

another Humax 9200 user here. Was great for a good while but now for a long time , prob over a year, it has been utter rubbish.
Does not respond to remote, locks up/freezes, last night stopped part way through a recording and would not play the rest - all sorts of issues constantly - sick to death of it.
will be looking for a new one and very doubtful I will consider a humax.
Oh and I tried the reset from the menu thing last night which did not see my box play rest of recording and indeed lost me most of the recording.Hate and I do mean Hate my apple Mac Computer - wish I'd never bought the thing
Do little and often
Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -

Don't know if this applies to the older models, but Humax boxes now have a 2 year warranty. Is yours older than that?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Has it updated to the latest software each time it's been released, and have you done the obvious stuff like resetting the factory settings/clearing disk to see if that helps?0 -
