You are correct. My husband returned a faulty item with out a receipt to our local boots. They had never sold this item. And we where told by CS phone line to take it back there other wise we would had to have made a 36 miles round trip to return it.

It is a shame that some SA are really nice and fall over themselves to help you and others don't.

In my local one a lady had bought enough No7 items that entitled her to a lilac bag. THe SA ran down the shop to get her one. As she has not picked one up. I have also heard they telling people that things are on offer even if the label is not up.

I even had vouchers for free stuff today and guess what. Did not get a thing. Will keep them for when I really feel the need to spend.

Thats happend to me in 2 differant stores first in east kilbride town center and then in the east kilbride/nerston retail park not sure if im going to try it again.

PS If anyone in the past few days have managed to get this working in any of the above stores could they pm what till they went to and who selved them:p

I would try ringing CS again tomorrow. Hopefully you will get a more sympathetic person. Explain the situation and how embarassing it was....and how upset you still feel. Don't be embarassed to name names....some of these SA's are little Hitlers. Remember to mention your bank card transactions too......just in case it does go through twice. Am going to go in tomorrow to use my No 7 voucher for sun tan lotion £9.50 on BOGOF.
Not sure if I will get the lilac bag, as from what everyone has been saying today the glitch may have been fixed.

I would prefer not to go through the embarrassment if I can help it.

Boots announced the other day 2250 job losses due to a revamp. At the same time Boots has reported increases of 12% in share prices!!!
If I worked for Boots I would let all the customers have anything they could rather than being penny pinching cos at the end of the day Boots aren't interested in their staff, only in making a profit. Ignore me, just having a rant.

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble. For future glitch trips I have found Metro Centre and Eldon Square boots to be good. Try and go to photo or baby counter. Or go on a weekend and go to a young saturday girl/boy - they don't seem to care what you put through. Hope you get on better in future.
