traceya89 wrote:i obviously had the look of a bootscammer today! i went into a store i have never been in today and went straight to AC machine. then proceeded and bought 4 no 7 colour pallets @ 9.99 1 lipgloss @ 9.99 and 5 lilac bags. my basket was full with this and then i asked if there were any shopping trolleys, told no but i could leave my stuff behind the counter while i continued shopping. i then got some mouthwash, hairdye (not the 3 for 2) and some diet cherry coke and proceeded to the tills to be met by a crabby SA in the queue and told me to go to the no 7 counter. oh no! i then was told i could not get all the bags with the 5 items i had bought (own up north east boots fanatics which of you have done this store over!!)
Which store was this traceya89???0 -
oh my god ive had the most upsetting trip to boots ever.
i went today intending to buy £20+ of stuff in order to get some free bodysuits. well for a start they didnt have body suits in the right size for my baby, so i asked an SA to look in her stock and she gave me a horrid look and said 'alright' in a troppy teenage way. she came back shaking her head v quickly and i must say i dont think she even looked and just told me they werent there. well i gave up and decided to go for the size smaller for my 2nd cousin whos just had a baby.
in order to get £20, i bought 3 huge packs of huggies, 1 pack of bibs, 2 packs of wetwipes, a jar of baby food, some baby fruit pots and some more bodysuits, in total something like £50+ of goods. i had some coupons, namely for the food pots and a few more for huggies and so on. in total i worked out my bill should be £29 and that i had spent £20 on baby (excluding clothes and baby milk) so i could have the mini essentials clothes for free.
this is where it goes horrible wrong. i go to the till where one person is seated, he puts everything through including my coupons and then tells me i need to pay £36! what what what!! i told him the mini essentials clothes should be free. he didnt believe me and went to look at the special offer tickets. he came back and then voided half my transaction to check that i hadnt made up the total with clothes or baby milk. as this was happening a queue of around 8 or 9 people was building behind me, including one rude woman who said 'you're holding up the queue with your coupons!!' in a loud voice humiliating me. the SA smiled when she said that, as he obviously agreed. well he totally everything up, manually took off the mini essentials, and told me to pay £29. so i paid with my debit card. the till crashed right after that. after i had already paid!!
its now 15mins since i got to the till. he buzzes for someone to come over and fix his till, who comes, tells him its crashed and that this new SA would take over on a new till. so i go over and he starts putting everything through. again the mini essentials clothing doesnt come off free, so i tell him about the special offer. he again doesnt believe me and goes to check it out. comes back and starts voiding anything that is in the exclusions (since when were bibs a piece of clothing?!) seeing that it is indeed over £20 he tells me he will charge me for the mini essentials  and then give me a refund. fine im tired, baby is tired, mil is tired and we've been at till for 25mins!! he charges me £36, and then when i put my advantage card in the machine, he tells me my card is faulty. thats right, when the till crashed it took my advantage card with it! so now i couldnt get my points as well.
fine mil gives over her card and she gets all the points, the man then takes my debit card (for the third time now!!) and swipes it yet again in order to give me a refund for the goods. he reassures me the first crashed till transaction wont go through, and if it does to just come back and they will sort it out. which is weird cause how can they considering i didnt get a reciept from the first till cause it crashed?!
i leave the store finally having spent around 45mins paying for my goods, with mini essentials that dont fit my baby, humiliated, embarrassed, and without a working advantage card.
so i had to call customer services just now to ask for a new card. when i did he asked me if there was anything else, so i tell him about the store and how everything bad happened and how badly i was treated. he places a complaint but offers no compensation even though i tell him my baby was upset, we were tired and we ended up queuing in rush hour traffic for 30mins cause the transaction took so long. should i have asked for compensation? should i write to boots and ask for compensation (espcially as i cant even use the ACM offers now) considering ive already had a telephone call that ended unsatisfactorily? ive never been so humiliated in my life, the sa made me feel like cheap skate and that it was all my fault the till didnt recognise the special offer.:A Boots Tart :A0 -
oh dear karnam that is terrible, remember you haven't done anything wrong, it's their stupid tills and SAs. I have had the same sort of experience in a Tescos recently where SA accepted my vouchers but then CS came over and voided them all, making me feel embarassed and uncomfortable infront of a large queue. I know it's upsetting now, even if you don't get compensation by writing a complaint letter to Boots it will probably make you feel better - I find writing it down lets off a bit of steam too - big hug - welsh-dragon xxx

tracey89 - did you do this in one transaction ? I'm a newbie to these offers but maybe if you had done them in 5 seperate transactions you could have got the lilac bags etc?
When I go to Boots I do them in seperate transactions so as not to draw attention to myself.I am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

Karnam, what store was this in? I am disgusted by their poor customer services. I agree with WELSH-DRAGON, definately write to them. Give great detail of how they made you feel like a cheapskate and say that you are too embarrassed to go back into that store.
Good luck xxx0 -

continuation of my complaint, somehow pushed wrong button.......
i was also annoyed i had 3 danielle ryman items to return which my mam had an allergic reaction to!! some crabby sa beside him said they had been on offer and were now on 3 for 2. i said they were a xmas present and it would be insulting to ask for the receipt. i wanted to exchange for roc products! anyway he said 2 items were 4.50 and that meant the 3rd item was to be returned without a refund. this was originally £18 and i refused to accept that and took the products back.
anyway i was so annoyed about the whole incident i rang CUSTOMER SERVICES. they said he was wrong about the Danielle Ryman stuff and the cheapest item should have been free. she has told me to return them to her for a refund!
I was also informed the bodyform coupons whether boots are reimbursed the money are not to be counted as cash! this seems to be different to what other MSEs have been informed.
I also informed CS that i would not be going into Boots as often as i usually done, will be cashing in my advantage card points and proceed to shop in Savers. I said i was certainly not out for freebies as today I spent £60 cash. I had £90 on my AC and it proved I was a regular shopper of Boots. I also said i was very embarrased by the whole incident and that issues needed to be addressed as i had never been in this Boots before.
P.s. if anyone wants to know which boots it is please PM me.
Anyway I await with anticipation Customer Care what they come back to me with when they have spoken to the Manager of this particular branch.
p.p.s. i also told them that some shops treat bodyform coupons as cash and some dont. i also told them that a crabby SA a few weeks ago put my freebie £5 voucher in her pocket as i was not entitled to it, but was not concerned about it at the time as the offer was almost finished and I had run out of things to buy.
in answer to the Boots , it was Boots, Market Place, Durham. Anyone else had problems there????Just about to give up!0 -
with the problem in Boots today, I put through 4 separate transactions to entitle me to what i am entitled to. Regarding not getting the pallets and lilac bag for 9.99, some you win some you lose. i will be returning them anyway now after the embarrassment i had today.
i also had a problem yesterday with Boots in Washington. they would not give me a refund on 2 packets of easy4men wipes which i had the receipt for as they do not sell them. I rang CS and they confirmed they should have took them. Washington told me their returns policy had changed and they could not accept anything if they did not sell it. I knew this was rubbish but accepted what they said and CS confirmed it was rubbish and they should have took it back. they would be speaking to the Manager of the store regarding their crabby SA.
If I have any more trouble in Boots I will not be going back!!! As if ........... I love a challange!Just about to give up!0
