That is the same as happened with the last job a year ago Di where they told him he was definately in line and then said they needed to change the start dates cause of the roof etc isn't it and then they changed it again and this went on for a year didn't it? Cannot believe this has happened again:confused:. That is bad.

Well, he could go on something like my son is going on as there is one for older workers as well. At least he would have something better than being at home with no job. I will try and find all the information out for it or do you have it? Why not do what we did and contact the MP? Its got to be worth a try or contact my MP (just kidding of course). At least she did something for us. I know my son has not actually got a job yet but there is a little hope now. Your hubby would "definately" be able to join it as he has been unemployed for so long. Its better than nothing.

Exactly Marshallka, action replay twice three times over, like Donotpassgo says, a rollercoaster.
I feel sick, but yeah will keep on now and look at other ways, thanks for this.:AX

I thought your son was working for the jobcentres now? Your hubby would certainly be able to join it and its guaranteed work for at least 6 months and guaranteed interviews as well so at least he could be working for at least half the year. My son is well chuffed and he has rang them today and they have said that two people that have their interviews next week have actually protested as to why they have got to go on them. The guy at the job centre was pleased someone was actually eager. ;)

Yeah we have already discussed this, when Jamie gets home from work I will be having words....he actually works as an adviser for Future job funds.....so it will help, he won't know our news until he comes home.;)

So happy for your son Marshallka........:T:T, that now does cheer me up.:AXX

There are a few deals for over 25's I think. Has your hubby done the 13 week work trial thing yet? He could do that and its full time work and a little extra on top of the dole money also? My son loved it and it gave him back his confidence although must admit was slave labour but then again you cannot buy confidence and self respect can you:confused:. At least he was getting up at 6 and doing something. ;)

I know its difficult to get jobs and our MP actually asked what sort of work my son actually "wanted"??? I could not believe that comment as beggars cannot be choosers and we emailed back and said for now "any" work would be great. I am sure your hubby will get something soon Di. Now is the time to get on at MP's too cause of the elections.;) How long has he actually been off work for including the sickness before he was made redundant? If its longer than 18 months I think there is something else out or coming out soon. Will try and find it for you and I am sure that your son will be able to help him too. I wish we had someone who works in the job centre.;)

He has been on these new deal couses arranged by the job centre and is due to start something called "serco", where they supposed to help to expand in different jobs.
He is waiting for a phone call on that one, think they place him on a works placement something along these lines.
Think it works out approx 17 months in total, so its been long time that is with sickness as well.

Hubby's cousin was a worker at the job centre for years and they would not let him deal with hubby, but yeah its useful to have someone within.
Will be nagging Jamie now for the ins and outs lol.
I think its the matter of having to take what is on offer.

Hubby is on lots of lists and was also told by a company (agency) he is now 7th on a list, that is actually being a Drivers mate, lots of travelliing involved but the list is taking forever, although before xmas he was something like 15th on the waiting list.

I think I will contact my MP Marshallka, cheers.....:T;), with the voting coming up as well.
We are totally fed up of being told, "yes we will contact you in the next intaking".........., but today I did literally did go off my head.

With lots of other stuff going on today as well, mum had her yearly mammogram, they had to call someone else in, she has to go back for the results next Monday, and now dad's CPN is saying dad not may be able to come home, I have a mixed mind today.

Just been looking at the stats for unemployment up and down Great Britain and found we are in the tops (west Midlands) for that and also repossessions too.

The government previously announced 22 repossession hotspots in September.
The 34 named today are: Ashfield, Nottinghamshire; Barnsley; Blackburn; Blackpool; Blyth Valley, Northumberland; Bradford; Burnley; Chester-le-Street, County Durham; Croydon; Derwentside, County Durham; Doncaster; Easington, County Durham; Greenwich; Lewisham; Luton; Middlesbrough; North Lincolnshire; Nuneaton and Bedworth; Oldham; Peterborough; Rochdale; Rossendale, Lancashire; Rotherham; Sedgefield, County Durham; South Holland, Lincolnshire; South Tyneside; Stockton-on-Tees; Stoke-on-Trent; Tameside, Greater Manchester; Tamworth; Thurrock; London borough of Waltham Forest; Wear Valley, County Durham; Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.:eek::eek:

Oh blimey, my mum was called back for her mamo but luckily everything was OK. I hope it is for your mum too Di. When I had my lump it was that they called me at home the day after having the mamo and scan and said that someone else wanted to do their own scan on it and it was the cancer woman:eek:. It was a solid tumor and they did a core biopsy (which took forever for the results) but it was benign. I know you have troubles with it in the family and that is why they are probably being extra precautious and its like with my sis and hers. Just hope things work out OK.

Its all trials and tribulations for all of us. Just glad though that we are living here and not like the poor sods in Haiti begging for water and food and shelter.

I know the type of thing. You attend for two weeks to gain your confidence etc CV writing and that and then you do the works trial thing. It was voluntary here but my son opted for it. He only gets moaned at at home.

How did you do with your door to door collections Di?
