marshallka wrote: »Hiya sharpdeath, been up to not a lot TBH. Well that is not exactly true... I have been cupboard cleaning as we have a damp problem in the house and its caused so much damage. Its a long story and have spent a fortune trying to get it sorted but hopefully this new thing will work for us (only had it a week) so have to give it time. Have had my overalls on up the loft shifting things from the eaves and trying to get things sorted.

Hmmm, I see! Damp can be a right PITA. Have you recently had your loft insulated? Sometimes leaving a small space uninsulated can help. Lets the air circulate a bit better. Is there any mods to the house which may have covered up the air bricks near the ground? :cool:All the time you're watching your back, you can never look forward...0 -

He will cope Di and it means a wage coming in which is better than not. You're a night owl too (me not!!) so always looking for night workers everywhere in nursing homes. I did it myself but as i say, I am no night owl.
Thanks Marshallka......:A
I did get on with working nights well and not only that I could even have a go with doing nights permanently without the shifts, but not going to be too fussy, just need an income coming in.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

marshallka wrote: »Hi sharpdeath, its been a 13 year problem but this year is worse than ever. We have had the soffits and facias done October and all of them vented. We have had a drimaster fitted last week as a last resort but the damp course is perished so needs doing again. We run a dehumidifier (or did till last week) 24/7. Nothing has worked and it horrid to sleep with black mould and my clothes are always ruined. I have been on here on the "home" forum lots and have had lots of helpful advice. These things happen. We will sort it out. I am an expert on the types of damps myself now. Rising, penetrating, condensations etc etc etc...... Its a bungalow sharpdeath so known for these probs. Just need to find more money to get the rest done.
Our last place was a very old bungalow and had exactly the same problem. We got so fed up with it in the end, we pulled it down and built a house. As you say, clothes get ruined, black mould everywhere, your health starts to deteriorate. Nasty stuff. All the time you're watching your back, you can never look forward...0 -
