Mum rang up the hospital and dad is doing okay up to now anyway.:beer:XXX. Apparently a nurse has told her today that she is coming home til January and going back as a day patient AND they are closing the ward after until further notice
. When I went on Saturday there was only my sis in and another lady arrived later that night and we were saying about them saying they are always short of beds. They have not said why the ward is closing but they would not let my sisters come to visit cause they are strict infection control:eek:. She is being told one thing one minute and then another things another
. She still has to have a review by HER docs though who are not based there apparently. Its a right mess TBH. Then they wonder?????
Surely its cheaper for them to get it all done today and then she does not have to go in again. She is also not too sure about her appointment (which was a two week wait one urgent) this friday and if she still has to go to see a consultant but I doubt it cause they have done things that perhaps she was going to have done anyway. Should know all later when these docs come round.
She is fine in herself though and the pain is still there but at least up to yet nothing serious. She just wants to see her son and then get the other things done then.0 -

Thanks Marshallka.:A;)XX
Blimey that's a concern isn't it in regards of closing down the ward itself?
Your poor sister bless her and her son as well.
What a palavar, something that is not needed right now, hope this gets sorted and soon.
Sending my love and best wishes.:AXXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
What do you think folks, I don't want to build up my hopes, but mum just rang me and she received a phone call from dad's CPN and his OT, they asked if they could come tomorrow to inspect his room to make sure everything is there that is required.
Do you think this sound like good news?:j
Before he went into the hospital unit his room was already set up, he has a room downstairs, a commode, although there is a downstairs toilet, a oxygen concentrator, smoke alarms, the carbon monoxide box and so on.
There are handrails for the toilet and already have a walk in shower-room.
He has one of those specialised beds, with the remote control.
I think I had better stop, I'm feeling excited, in case they are just inspecting for other reasons. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

?
Yeah it does sound hopeful doesn't it?;)
Since dad's section was highered, they stated at the meeting that he would not be disharged without a continued care package, he was not provided with this the last time, although he was provided with 3 carer's a day, there is supposed to be more involved with this one, we are yet to find out more on this.
They also mentioned about a daily befriender.
I have since been told there is a meeting in regards of a care package this week, so will find out more then.
We need to make sure on everything before he is discharged. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

My sister is home now. All is looking good so far and back on Friday.
The wards are closing at our hospital cause of the winter vomiting bug. Its in the local paper and hers was closed from today for new admissions and also visitors so very lucky to be out of there really:cool:. Just checked for the incubation period of the norovirus and its 24 to 72 hours.... just hope none of us get struck down with that for Christmas.... I went for my bp check last christmas at our docs and came home and got real proper flu. Never had it before but it took some getting over and my hubby got it too but thank god the kids were spared.
The adjudicator rang this morning to say he had about 190 complaints like mine and it was just that he had not actually closed the file completely but would now do it. I said to him that I thought maybe he was going at them for something else I had complained about  but he said no, he was just running behind. Oh well... :rotfl:0
