At home we have all been talking lots about dad and remember just before the dementia, he was taken in hospital due to pnumonia for the 3rd time, this was just before his heart attack, well anyway the hospital rang my mum at 3am to come down the hospital because dad was having a funny turn, he was hallunicating and trying to get the patients out of their beds, the one poor lady had no legs and he tried carrying her and telling them all that all the staff were zombies..........
He had at least 8 or 9 out of their beds and got them all afraid of the staff thinking then they were actually Zombiesit was then not so long after that dad was diagnosed with Encephalitis, yet another illness to the brain.
I think about all the trauma he have been through since a child, and why he is probably suffering for it now.
He also obsconded the hospital 2 years ago as well, whilst some of the family went down to see him, they wondered where dad was, the staff panicked, and looked everywhere, had the security looking as well, then suddenly my other sister rang to say that the neighbours next to mum and dad had rang her to say dad was standing outside his front door knocking to get in in his jim jams........, it was hammering down with rain as well.
He managed to get a lift back with a guy in a van he did not know, still don't know how he managed it though in his jim jams and the hospital wrist band......The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
lol, Hi hunni, you cheer me up so much lmao :rotfl::rotfl: your so cool and must give you credit with all your going through bless you.:A.
Oh thank you, that will be lovely, I am ever so grateful.:kisses3: XXXX
I was thrilled when I read your post babe. When are they coming to check things out?
A lot of people get into self pity mode when they’re diagnosed with chronic illness, I’ve been the complete opposite though. I appreciate and value everything in life so much more now. My brother says he needs to take a day off to pop to the shop with me now because I spend half the day at give ways on the roads letting everyone go before me. He’s a cheeky wee scallywag. Ha Ha:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The poor soul been through the works Di hasn’t he, god love him what a shame. I’ve never heard of Encephalitis before babe, is it similar to dementia?
Last time I was in hospital an auld dear was trying to pull me out ma bed, I told her you’ve got no chance auld yin. I’ve been waiting three days for one of these good beds you’ll need an army with you to get ma bed. I’ve got no respect for my elders eh.:eek:
Hope you don’t mind Di but I told my auld dad the story today about your dad shouting at the auld dear sleeping in the chair was dead, he had a wee chuckle about it. :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes Gerry, in fact even as a newborn his parents (my grandparents) were told they would be lucky if dad was to make it through his first year, but he is a miracle, as we have actually lost him at least 3 times and he have come back to us.;)
Here on this link below is some info about Encephalitis, it will explain it better than me lol
