I just actually rang the hospital unit to ask if dad is okay.

I was told the usual, he is fine, settled and he is doing okay.

So I thought I would ask what the chances are of him being home for xmas, her words were "I wouldn't like to say but its unlikely"........, so I asked why if he has been doing okay, she said "it doesn't work out like that"........

Feel downhearted about this........will have to try to speak to his social worker to find out more I think.
I think its this coming week they will have some updates anyway.

I know they can only send him home if they are sure he will settle, but they know how much he wants to be home, he did actually say the other day......he may as well be in prison, so he still has his wits about him bless him.;)

    What a shame Di,

Try not to get too disappointed until you speak to either the social worker or his doctor. Unless the nurse is 100% certain regarding the situation, she shouldn’t really be giving her own personal opinion. I know its really difficult but try to take the good advice that you give on here, “don’t give up hope sweetie”. There could be a significant improvement in your dad within next couple of weeks.

I can totally understand why he's saying he may as well be in prison, I said to my brother just this afternoon “I’m a prisoner to my ill health”. Tell your dad he’s got a wee pal in Scotland that’s on his wave length. :D

Thinking of you, Take care sweetie.

Just to say Hi everyone and hope you dad gets on OK Di. Hope he is home for christmas for you all.

And happy birthday to little miss pinky for tomorrow.

I have checked my bank account today and the money from Lloyds actually went on the 3rd December so must be a record in paying out I would think. Very happy with it cause i could have lost really. They were certainly true to their word.

Yippee..... :j:j:j Another MSE Winner ....:T:T:T

    Hi Gerry

    Thank you so much.:A;)
That is right, we shall wait to see what his Social worker or doctor says first and take it from there.
Fingers crossed though, but I suppose they do have their reasons if they don't allow it, and it maybe in dad's best interest perhaps as well.
So I think its best just to keep an open mind for now.;)

Aww bless you.......yes I will tell dad for you.:A

Dad seemed okay again today, so nothing new to tell really, only that he is doing okay and obviously missing his own home and family so much, like we do dad.

  • Good Morning All,

Hope this week brings good results for you Showergirl, did they give you an indication of timescale for results? You are in our prayers.;)

Di hoping that you get good news about getting your Dad home even if its just for Christmas Day. Bet your house smells all new and fresh, we havent decorated in ages we normally leave it till the week before Christmas and go mental, then we end up being so shattered and crabbit, then we wonder why Christmas ends up being too stressful? Hopefully we've learned our lesson and will cover up any chips in paintwork with Christmas Cards and tinsel.

So glad you laughed at my comments Paul and that you have forgiven me. Never too sure how messages come across but from reading yours I knew you had a great sense of humour, you make me laugh out loud. Thank you for that.:D How is your treatment going?

Happy belated birthday to Little Miss Pink hope she had a lovely day.

Marshallka good news having the money in the bank what a relief you battled to get that and as many have said you deserve it, testament to you that you want to keep helping others.:T
