Hi Di,
I think your son will enjoy making it with you, meant to say make sure the cake cools down in tin before trying to get out, sometimes we cant wait and try and get out when warm it never leaves the tin cleanly and then you burn your mouth on the hot fruit.....the pleasures.:p
How did eldest son get on at weekend? I dont feel I've seen daughter over the weekend she was at the rugby in edinburgh on saturday, works in a lounge bar Friday night till the wee small hours, works on a Sunday, college during the week. Oh to be young.
Techie question how do you get the thanks icon onto bottom of message?
Love x0 -

Thank you hunni, and for the tip as well, oh yes the can't wait bit. thats me lol, thanks for letting me know though.;)
Yes my oldest had a fab time, not so drunk as I expected him to be, considering he was out from the daytime, he said he paced himself until mid night then just went for it lol, he got home I think about 4 am, something like that.
Your daughter busy then?
At the age now where we rarely see our oldest kids, I must admit though I worry lots, and have even had to text my son to make sure things are okay, well I'm not so bad as I used to be, as now he switches off his phone.......:o:eek::D.
On the right hand side under the posts you will see the thanks button, you see this on other peoples post but not your own if you know what I mean, where I can see yours then I can't see mine, hope this helps.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Di, are you constantly flitting between different topics? :A
You are such a great help how long have you been helping on here? There seems to be a good core of really helpful posters it really does my heart good.0 -
I know its almost midnight with me posting this.
But hope everyone have had a better day today.;)
This evening dad not so much himself unfortunately, but like I said to mum, we all have our ups and down days, and with them trying different meds with dad, things will take time to work as well.
Dad was a little breathless again earlier as well, but not so bad after going on his nebuliser.
Thing is when dad is getting anxious that is when he does get our of breath, he is doing okay otherwise though.;)
Hi Di,
How are you huni?
I can sympathize with your dad feeling breathless its as though your suffocating or someone is strangling you, its understandable that the poor wee soul gets anxious.
I’ve got plenty of oxygen here could maybe negotiate "mates rates " with you for some. Only joking huni, please excuse my sick sense of humour.Must be the lack of oxygen warping my brain.
Hope you get some good news tomorrow and that dad gets home for xmas, your in my thoughts and prayers.

donotpassgo wrote: »Hi Marshallka,
Hope your daughter is improving now that she is taking Iron tabs, can I offer you a recipe for Bran Cake its the only way I can eat it.
1 cup each of SR Flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of bran, 1 cup of mixed fruit, 1 cup of milk, mix it altogether in a large mixing bowl cover with tea towel and leave overnight. butter 1lb loaf tin blob in mixture (its pretty gross looking) cook in oven 190 for about an hour test cake is cooked. I now use a large mug for measuring to make 2 x 1lb cakes the family like it so much.
Hope this is of use. Love to you and yours.
Thanks again for the recipe. SOunds lovely too.:A0 -

marshallka wrote: »My daughter loves cooking. We call her "Mary Baker". She has fad where for weeks she is always in the kitchen and although never had any nan there for her like they do she has always baked and must admit she is not that bad at all. Our next door neighbour died a few weeks ago (an elderly gentleman) and she did some butterfly cakes for his wife as there were lots of people calling as you can imagine so she gave them a large tub of cakes. My next door neighbour said her husband was always so proud of my daughter. Must admit she is a lovely girl and not just saying that cause I am her mother. I have so many remarks about her from others too.
Ah that’s lovely Marshallka, Its so sweet to hear praise from a proud mother…
