Bless her and you of course.;)
Yes that is common isn't it and physio does and should help, hope all goes well with that..fingers crossed. X

I spoken to one of the members of staff on the phone the other day, she said they are hoping dad will be home for xmas, or it may just be for a few hours, as they have the right under Mental Section Act 3 to hold him for up to 6 months, then its to be reviewed again.
So depending if they can get ths meds right or not really.
    Here's hoping anyway.;)

I have been googling to find more info on these acts and in a way its a good thing I suppose, because even on discharge there should be more help on hand if required.
Shame it have gone this far though, wish mum accepted the help when this was offered over a year ago.

I will let you know anyway thanks for asking.:A;)XXX
My friend was on a section at a hospital near us and we bought her here for a day one sunday. It was strange though cause she did nothing but ring and plead with us to have her. As much as I wanted to help her I could not as she needed the professionals as too far gone. In the end it drained us TBH and my daughter was only a baby then. I have not heard much more from her although she was living in a sheltered type place last we heard. I do still think about her alot but something had hold of her. So sad.

    That is very sad Marshallka.
    So sorry to hear that.
A friend of ours, well we have known her and her family ever since we were very small, she was recently diagnosed with the brain disease called Picks Disease, she is 44 years old, I read this is quick acting and similar to that of Alzeheimers but affects the brain far quicker, when you hear this of youngers ones its very tragic indeed isn't it?
At one time she was going out with my older brother, many years ago this was, and to see a sudden change in her is very devastating, I can imagine how hard this have been for you as well, seeing your friend in a way like this.
She was married and had twin boy and girl now in their mid 20's, finding it very difficult, and their father is no longer on the scene.
She is actually staying in a unit opposite to dad and awaiting to go into a home, her twins have her home for a few hours at a time, but finding really hard, horrible situation ........so sad.

Dad was very sleepy today.......think its a lot to do with the meds myself.

However, the staff said the night times seem to be getting better with him as well.
Hoping he will be home for Christmas.XX

I am so shattered tonight and keep dosing off, so may try to get an earlier one if I'm lucky.......:D. XX

  • Hi Marshallka,
Hope your daughter is improving now that she is taking Iron tabs, can I offer you a recipe for Bran Cake its the only way I can eat it.
1 cup each of SR Flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of bran, 1 cup of mixed fruit, 1 cup of milk, mix it altogether in a large mixing bowl cover with tea towel and leave overnight. butter 1lb loaf tin blob in mixture (its pretty gross looking) cook in oven 190 for about an hour test cake is cooked. I now use a large mug for measuring to make 2 x 1lb cakes the family like it so much.
Hope this is of use. Love to you and yours.
