Oh right, my son did that one and then went on to do full time work for the council for 13 weeks for an extra £15 on top of his dole. He actually really enjoyed it but he had to do this after being unemployed for only 6 months. He has most probably got another temporary data job for the next couple of months. He should hear on monday but just keeps taking whatever is thrown at him which is a good thing. He has got his exams etc but having to do just "anything" at the moment. Like he says, its better than sitting around here.

Glad your hubby will most probably be returning very soon. It seems ages since he had the job offer again and still no closer and not definate but I am sure he will be OK:eek:.

Good luck to your son as well Marshallka.;)
    Keeping everything crossed for him.

I think they work it in stages on age groups, like for under 21's under and over 25's something like that don't they?

Yes I do hope hubby gets a date soon, for now he has been told just to keep in touch with the plant on a week to week basis.
    Fingers crossed.
He have tried for different jobs as well, for something he have not ever done before, its being given that chance would be nice.

I think its all picking up now though, slowly but getting there.
Even my brother in law who is a Manager at a Heavy Brake manufacturing industry is keeping a close eye on things for hubby, unfortunately they let too many go a few months back, went down to 3 days a week, from shifts to days only, but are gradually picking back up again, so hubby did say whatever comes up first he will be gladly start.

The annoying thing is you send CV's out to almost every company you can think of, even agencies, but all you hear is "we will be happy to keep you details on file", even the ones that have actually been taking on, does not always let you know, unless your successful of course. You chase them up as we do, but then told there is nothing.

Hubby have also tried for driving jobs, again they are all snapped up very quickly.
Shame lots have closed down as well, we have 4 big companies in our area that all closed down over the one year, sad.

Still there is hope yet........fingers crossed.

  • Hi everyone

    How are you all today.

I am having a really good day, I think Nassies news has really perked me up. She has sent the acceptance form back to the FOS and has been told it can be up to 8 weks before she receives any money. I have told her that they may take the balance off the amount, but she is not bothered as it wiil rid her of the debt.

My hubby received a phone call that he is now number 7 on the list for a driving position, apparently this list is huge, hopefully if he hears soon it will be something for him to go on with, as its not permanent but will hopefully take it to the time he hears from the steel plant, fingers crossed.
