Hi everyone,
I'm gonna have a bit of a ramble, I hope it makes sense when I have written it all.
A bit of background first, I have been on a DMP since July 008, ended up there due to irresponsible borrowing and lending and digging a hole so deep I couldn't get out of it. The best thing (eventually) to happen was that my hubby found out (debt only in my name), hit the roof, threatened all sorts and so on. It was a relief for it to be out in the open so that I could find a solution, hence Payplan and I becoming very good friends. Things have settled at home, hubby been brilliant, altho he still cannot understand how a seemingly intelligent woman could get herself into such a mess, without being flippant, I told him that it was extremely easy to do but not easy to rectify as the hole kept getting deeper and deeper.
LTSB are my biggest creditors by far and I have been trying to reclaim cc PPI from them since September 07, it went to the FOS in May 08 and my claim has been upheld by the adjudicator May 09, but as (shock horror) Lloyds didn't respond to the findings it has to go to an Ombudsman. Now we all know what is happening, the FOS is trying to get the banks to deal with claims en masse, so I am still waiting for a proper result.
A few weeks ago I was sorting thro some old papers and found old documents and papers that showed I was paying PPI on quite a few other cards, so off went the letters, 25-09-09. I had cancelled a few years ago, trying to economise. GE Money (4) answered very quickly, I wasn't able to claim as my husband was covered by them. They sent all application form copies and they are right, he would have been covered.
I am now getting to the real point of this marathon, THANK GOD, I hear you all shouting.
I received a reply from Argos dated 28-10-09, stating that upon investigation, I was never eligible for cover under Terms & Conditions, as on the application form I stated I was a Homemaker. They have calculated the premiums and credited £141.48 plus interest of £11.31 to my account, which is on the DMP.
I know the interest should be more than this but I am grateful for the fact that they have frozen interest on my account since telling them of my difficulties and really what they owe me would probably be less that the interest I should have been paying them. It is £150+ that I do not now owe and every little is a bonus.
I suppose what I am really after is for you to tell me that this is the fair way to do it and that I'm not being stupid.
I hope I haven't bored you all to tears and sent you to sleep.
Take care and hope you are all well/better.

Hi Karen
Hope your well.:A
You certainly have not bored us hun.;)
Yes in my opinion your being fair here and doing good, and certainly not stupid.
Lloyds TSB are so difficult to deal with for one, we know that, and we no longer bank with them, and have had some issues to deal with them with, which they did not resolve, where we have a few complaints in about these with the FOS. It have already been passed on, we received the letter a few days back to tell us they have now assigned this with an adjudicator, basically to do with some very unfair treatment.
Mind you like yourself we have some PPI issues with them as well, hubby was told today by the adjudicator that is working alongside the ombudsman, he should hear of a final decision very soon (as again like yourself Lloyds tsb ignored the first adjudicators decision).
This was in regards of his credit card number 2 (PPI).
And we have a few loan ppi's complaints as well.
Your going about this in the right way Karen, keep up the great work and wish you success very soon with Lloyds TSB.
Great news on the Argos one as well, well done hun.:T:T:beer:.

Hi Kpwll
The GE Money CC PPI although they have turned you down did they add this onto your CC without your permission. e.g. when you opened the card did you have to opt out of the PPI. You may still have a case on these?:mad:0 -
Hi all,
Hope everyone are well.
Just come back from my GP appointment, it went okay, they want to leave me on the same BP meds, as the reading was rather good today, so I'm happy with that.
Had the Flu jab a few weeks back and I have to ring next week to be slotted in for the Swine Flu Jab, not looking forward to that one, but wise though I think.:D
All the guys in my house are suffering MANFLU........The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi max,
I ticked the box so they did have permission. I don't mind them proving that it wasn't missold, it's when these firms do all they can not to pay out when they are in the wrong.
