Think well have at least 3 years of sideways
With green shoots appearing then wilting
Best to stay active for next few years0 -

a +couple of years of trading range (like first half 70' or latest years in Japanese stock market ) will be disruptive imo 4 day trading, but it is not a remote scenario.0 -
Hey there guys and gals,
Just expressing my view of a guy who watches the markets everyday, analyses information everyday for around 2-4 hours a day!
I reckon FTSE 100 will end the year in the positive territory, and will continue to climb like we did in the boom, with the couple of jitters and rise and the odd tumble, like everyday life.
I also think the banks will gain ground this year, but even more so, although I think they could have an incredibly rocky ride, like they have been having for the past few months, but even more so. As soon as you have bad news, they tumble, as soon as you have good news, they surge, so whether or not we have good or bad news, I don't know, I'm going for good, but that just me being positive.
I am just a teenager, so don't expect huge results from my analysis, but every view counts I guess.
Just remember that the market is based people's reactions, if people are upbeat with bad news, who cares about the bad news, the markets will go up, if people are low about good news, the markets go down, it's a crazy world!
Anyway, that's my opinion, sorry for the long post! And I hope I helped some people.:D:D

I want to start investing?
If i invest say £100 in BT and they drop 2% then my investment is worth £98?
What if and could they drop 101%?
Can you lose more than your 1st investment?
how much do you need to start off with? £100, £500, £1000?0 -

If you invest 100 in BT, you lose the price of broker commission, government tax of 0.5% and also you lose the spread between buyers and sellersBid:104.00
Ask:104.050 -
I would be interested to know what people on this thread think about where the markets will be at the end of this year.
This guy reckons 930 for the sp500 year end which for ftse you can interpret as round about here.

For tomorrow I would guess a fallback from 4200 just because we were previously bouncing upwards from there.
Just a rough guess but I figure its good to have lots of views that can be whittled down into an actual position to take a stab at the market with0
