Been topping up in :
Invesco Perp High Income
Invesco Corp Bond
M&G Corp Bond
Invesco Perp High Inc Plus
Could be a double top in the market and it may be headed downwards but there again it may break out and head upwards into a bull rally.
Either way Im sitting in cash on the sidelines and will drip feed into the market over the next few months.0 -

Well shares, like i said are going up
Things are getting better.
A VERY GOOD TIME TO INVEST
Dow Jones Industrial Average Saturday, 30 May, 2009

When the £ was weakening most of the doomsters said we didn't export much
Sure but we do export some things just not as much as we import apparently. Low currency should stimulate the economy but obviously its not immediate, I was just saying theres two sides to every coin
Also weak pound makes imports more expensive and much more reason to use british business. Pretty sure someone on here in the clothing business said uk production was at 100% due to a rebalance in competitiveness
One reason china doesnt want america to collapse or the whole dollar reserve currency thing to change right now is because it would mean they had to compete on a level playing field.
Everyone says china is an emerging economy, a 'bric'. If they were not deliberately keeping their exchange rate down, throwing money at america, etc I think we'd see they are really one of the primary world economies (25%?) , they are the tiger in the grassWell shares, like i said are going up

If the price of a new car goes up because its costs FORD more to import it now (weak pound effect), do I celebrate or look elsewhere when buying.
I dont see why shares going up means anything good except if you happen to sell it right at that moment and are better able to buy something real with the money
If you said dividends are going up I might agree thoughFATHEROFTWO wrote: »Been topping up in :

Read a study that showed bonds give greater returns then shares in a more normal market (then we've had the last 10 years) so maybe your right
I agree it could breakout upwards but didnt we already have the rise, seems down is more likely but I think its probably more a case of being in the right place overall long term so Im trying to drip into commodity shares because all commoditys (not just gold/silver) work well against price rises apparently
Duck that website is good but not because it has the same ftse chart as everywhere else but their global chart shows how much bigger other markets are then the ftse.
Every time america opens it sends the global chart flying one way or the other but also it shows asia, etc

If you check the Monthly chart globally or look above carefully, you will see we had a slight drop in May0 -

You have that the wrong way round, a strong pound makes imports cheaper and exports more expensive for overseas customers'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Yea I wrote it the other way round then edited it wrong, you know what I mean!0

The reports are that things are on there way up, even the housing market..
I believe this is a very GOOD time to invest.
House prices see highest jump since 2006
The Nationwide House Price Index rose again in May – the latest evidence that consumers and businesses are becoming more optimistic about the economic outlook - May 29 2009 20:11

Even if prices and optimism counted for alot, fundamentals matter more and they look shoddy right now.
The only real market turn around Ive heard of is China and other countries buying land in africa at dirt cheap prices
I do have small investments in land but I dont expect it to look good for ten or twenty years which is fine by me but I wouldnt want to rely on it before then[FONT=verdana,sans-serif,arial] Due to water shortages across the region, Middle-eastern nations like Qatar, Jordan, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia have turned largely to Africa for thousands upon thousands of hectares of land, while massive populations and dwindling land has led India, South Korea, and China to also buy up farmland overseas. If I also heard of foreign buyers taking up london properties I'd agree with you0 -
Sabretoothtigger.
With you being that cautious i am surprised that you have any investments. It might be safer just sleeping with the money under your pillow.
The markets have changed and just have a look.
I would suggest anyone to invest.
You will see an increase...
