UK Stockmarket 2009 and beyond

Nice recovery on HOC, it actually gained on the day despite the silver price not recovering. The volume was below average so Im not convinced its found a base yet but theres definite interest at this price
BNC on the other hand had about 4 times the normal volume, it formed a low at the beginning of the day and gained towards close. I think it might not drop back to these July prices again depending on how much further the larger market has to go in this move.
9.7% jobs down from 10% sounds good in theory but the supposed threat of higher fed rates is sending out the tide of liquidity that has bid up alot of stocks. 9.7 could go back up so anyway whatever is driving prices down isnt going to finish in one day it seems.
Last friday the positive gdp figures took another day to sink in, maybe we'll see the upside next week
SLV is above average volume but its been appearing on the selling
This looks like quite an optimistic chart, computer drawn. It appears to suggest this negative trend does fit within the larger bull market and also this last days close still straddles the 5100 uptrend line (note 27th nov) which means we might rise from here on.
If on monday we open and also close below 5100 then this bullish idea would be nullified0 -
Seems to be a bit of buying support at 5050.
Let's see how we go.0 -
Nice red day, if you're a bear of course. Market just a few points short of the flag target. Time for beers.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Just a word of caution for buyers of miners, prices have only retraced to December(pre Xmas rally)levels.I would like to see JULY levels. If you ARE buying then you must be assuming a return to FTSE 5500?Cant see this happening with the withdrawal of QE + Debts and Unemployment etc
Hi Tony whilst I take on board your warning re the miners, thanx, with regards to QE, I don't see that ending anytime soon, I fully expect, like a bad movie we will see QE II the sequel. I think this correction is a buying opportunity for traders and investors alike, although I haven't sat down yet to ascertain where I think we go next in the short term. So far we have pretty much completed the measured move projection from the SPX bear flag with yesterdays low at 1044.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

The Daily Mail never is 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Tony, did you join Selftrade in February? If so, then this seems to be the continuation of their three free trades to try to soothe the annual management charge they introduced last year.
Been with them over a year
Apparently Ive WON 5 or 8 trades(cant remember entering anything)0
