  • This month hasn't been great. I totally dropped the ball for a week or two and have ended up with a £25 bank charge which I really could have lived without.

I still haven't managed to find a part-time job but I'm working on it. All other extra money-making has ground to a halt.

Think I'll be under £8k by the end of this month but that's all due to minimum credit card payments. Can't see the overdraft being reduced at all in the near future.

Oh well. At least the debt hasn't gone up. Guess that's a reason to celebrate.

I'm off to catch up on what everyone else has been doing.

  • Hi Lou, Yes I guess it is. I'm so ready for extra work now and I have time on my hands to do it but there's really not much out there. I will keep looking though.

Also forgot to say I won £5 on a free scratchcard yesterday. I've accumulated nearly £20 and OH has £15 so maybe I'll get something knocked off the overdraft after all.

Cash has never been this tight and really reminds me what happens when you stop bothering for a while, it all goes wrong.

I tried to enter my tax return yesterday for 2009-2010 and it seems I'm too early. God I'm never this organised. Funny.

I'll get a monthly update done at some point in the next 24 hours. I'm hoping to set some goals and get my motivation back.

Got an email about a £60 mystery shop yesterday. Responded immediately only to find out someone else had already snapped it up. I haven't managed to bag a mystery shop since January.

It's my birthday next week and I wsa wondering if I should use any birthday cash for matched betting? It's such a good earner when you can be bothered.

March was officially a dfw holiday for me. I think I was getting burnt out with it all. Now I'm back and ready to destroy this overdraft once and for all.

    March 2010
    • Paid off £48.53 in debt
    • Had a DFW mother's day that was lovely
    • Managed to not create any more debt
    April 2010
    • Be totally ruthless with my last remaining cds and dvds and flog them on music magpie. All my music can be put on my pc and I never watch old dvds anymore.
    • Return jump leads to tesco now that I've found the receipt and get my cash back.
    • Withdraw cash from scratch cards, £35.
    • Use birthday money for matched betting. Yes I really am going to get back into it.
    • Keep trying to get mystery shops.
    • Tighten up the budget. Every penny counts.
    • Make sure I'm claiming every penny of travel expenses I'm allowed from work and voluntary work.
    • Think about ways to use less petrol for work...wonder if I could get a lift from a neighbour one day a week.
So, that's the plan for this month. I'm under £8k and that feels good. It seems like a long haul until the next milestone of being under £7k. I need some more ideas to speed up the process.

  • Well music magpie are taking their own sweet time to send out my labels. They still haven't arrived a week later. They better hurry up before I sell this stuff on ebay.

Had an added expense this week as the council are charging £10 to uplift some furniture. Great.

    Otherwise nothing much to report.
