Hi naefags
Most of my stuff was pretty worthless on music magpie but I had 3 dvds worth £3 each and made up the rest with old cds. I haven't sold anything since. Have a tv and video on gumtree that no-one wants. Oh well.
I need to do some banking today and get my wages paid. I'll work out the debt total after that and update my sig. Also need to think of a plan for February as I have a smaller wage this month due to taking time off over christmas then getting snowed in.
I've bought lunch out twice this week. I seem to have been really busy with long days at work (too busy to buy a loaf of bread for sandwiches? It's not much of an excuse) so ended up with ready made ones. Feel so guilty but needs must. I'm also a bit run dwn this week and don't know how that happened since I've been sitting on my bum for 3 weeks over christmas.
Anyway, not much else to report on the debt front. Need to go get busy. Good luck to everyone with debt busting and thank goodness January is nearly over. Can't wait for springtime.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

Here's the review of last month and plan for next month. I'll try and stick to it but February is a short month and cash is even more tight than usual so we'll see what happens.
January 2010- Paid off £774.13 in debt :j
- Bought a cheap birthday present in preperation for next month
- Researched a cheap phone and internet package and got it
- Coped with the MOT of car 1
- Sold car 2
- Went on a DFW date with OH
- I'd like to reduce the debt by £400 with the target being my overdraft
- Sell everything which isn't tied down
- Continue matched betting and mystery shopping with OH on the scratch cards
- Plan a DFW valentine's day

Thanks lucielle and naefags. It's good to know there's someone cheering me on! A cream egg might just be the thing to chirp me up.
I've been on the quit smoking and diet thread to confess how carp I've been this week. I've smoked a few cigs the last 3 days and also managed to gain 1/2 a lb. All my hard work is going to waste. Before know i I'll be in town with the credit cards out having a shopping spree.
I need to get back on track so will focus only on the next week. The smoking has to stop before I'm back on 20 a day. I'm gutted with myself about this. The healthy eating should be easier to get back into cos I enjoy it.
Naefags, was your takeaway good? You're making my mouth water!
Keep on keeping on everyone.

This month there is no tax return or big wage or anything extra coming in to help with the debt. This month it's just a fairly small wage and hopefully some good ideas.
OH decided gumtree was better than ebay so we have a tv and video waiting to be sold. I have dug out 4 pairs of trousers and a few other wee bits to sell on there too. Fingers crossed.
I'm keeping an eye out for more mystery shops and will try my hardest to be the first to snap them up.
If we're lucky then we'll be able to withdraw £20 from the scratchcards this month.
That's the plan so far.

Abbey/Santander/that bank with the identity crisis have just written to me to say they are increasing my interest rate from 18% to 26.9%!!!. Can they just do that? How? It's not fair.
Oh...just read the letter again and they've also said that if I want I could close the account and repay the balance at the current interest rate. Would they ask for it all at once? Would it have a negative impact on my credit rating?
I hate banks. Especially this one.
Maybe they somehow found out I'm the mystery shopper that keeps slagging them off?
I don't know what to do now but I expect my target debt should shift this month from the overdraft to this card. The balance is £3,781.95. It's going to take me a while to shift it but there would be no harm in getting started and at least trying.
I hate, hate, hate banks. What's wrong with them they need to rip everyone off all the time? It's so dysfunctional. Should they not be trying to win a lifetime of loyalty from us?
Anyway, I'll try and calm down and be back with a plan later.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

So, I just spoke to the bank and evidently they can do whatever they want with interest rates whenever they want. Surprise surprise.
So, my account is now closed, the card is not functional and I will receive a monthly statement telling me how much the minimum payment is every month even though there can be no transactions. And the interest stays as it is now. She called it 'opting out'. Of what? Getting completely screwed? Who wouldn't 'opt out'? Poor desperate people who are using their cards to buy food or petrol every week like I was a couple of months ago. I hate banks. I really do.
Anyway, that's the second credit card to leave my purse and get stored away though unfortunately this one isn't paid off. But it has really made me think I need to get a move on paying these debts so they can't just spoil my morning with a letter like that.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05
