No idea why you couldn't have just stated that at first, TBH. Very puzzling. If someone accused me of potential fraud I would take great delight in putting them right. You have excellent employers....almost unique, I would suggest. Just so I can get this right, are you saying that in order to beat my deal you need to make personal calls from work? What about people who don't have such philanthropic employers?

Sorry I wasn't aware you were/are part of the famous internet police who can accuse all and sundry of a crime, then find them guilty by omission. I hope you are very proud of yourself. Unfortunately you do your 'cause' that of a UW apologist no good at all, you simply come across as a hectoring bully. Who uses the anonymity of the internet to massage their own ego.

Is your blustering why you haven't come up with a deal to beat Carmine's proposed one with Utility Warehouse? Is that why you refuse to accept that some people can save money by using their services? Is that why you continue to criticise the company when it has been proven they can save people money? You know, this being a money saving site and all.

    Blimey carmine

You must have got out of bed the wrong side today (yesterday). For heavens sake just leave jimexbox alone ( you will end up like Q if you keep taking the extract from posts that you fancy and then act like a saintly Rottweiler).

    Mike :p

Thanks for the thought, maybe you should send carmine on an extensive customer training course if he ever decides to become a UW salesman. I fear his 'style' of internet police/bully may lose you custom.

It is the Prospero magazine that is the problem with the challenge.

To get gas & electricity much cheaper is just too easy - virtually every tariff beats UW hands down - I posted earlier the savings for his consumption earlier in this thread - about £150?

If you need confirmation how much cheaper all the Big 6 are for Yorkshire for 15,000kWh/4,800kWh you only need to look at any comparison website. If you need help, let us know.

His telecoms/Broadband package can be obtained much cheaper, and there are many packages that are far better value - again all that posted earlier.

His challenge has been accepted and beaten easily.

So I suggest that you get some original thought and try another tack.

Everyone with any sense knows that UW have very high charges for gas and electricity, their TVG is a sham, and their Broadband/telecoms package is loaded with extra charges, £5 for wireless, extra for an internet phone, call minder, caller ID etc.

No matter how much you UW reps bleat you cannot escape the fact that UW is very expensive.

How is it then that my figures, including all relevant fees, show that I save about £4.50 per month compared to your own quoted best deal?

I hope that the readers of your comments DO listen to the clip to understand that you have no basis for your comments. No mention is made in the clip regarding this being being a "worthless" sales tool. What is said is that, by having the TVG, this gives potential customers peace of mind............... Your continued maligning of the TVG is churlish and discourteous and should be seen as insulting to the vast majority of users on the forum.

The only insult to the "vast majority of users on the forum" is the insult to our intelligence by the uw reps who insist this is a proper guarantee and of some value.

The word "worthless" as a description of the "guarantee" ia accurate.

A guarantee is given to assure the buyer that a product will meet certain specifications.

The uw guarantee starts off assuring us your products are cheaper than BG, local electricity suppliers etc, then goes on to stay you will remain "competitive" with the big six.

But only by reading the small print do we discover how worthless this is.

    1) It doesn't even attempt to match like with like:

    2) It excludes the mandatory separate monthly "club" membership fee, which BG/local electric suppliers never charge)

    3) It excludes all competitor's direct debit tariffs. (Though only "applies" to your "members" who pay uw by direct debit!)

    4) It excludes all competitors dual fuel tariffs.

    5) It excludes all competitors on-line tariffs.

    6) In fact it only includes your competitors' expensive standard tariffs.

    7) As further evidence this is just a "sales tool", there is no mention anywhere on how anyone makes a claim against the guarantee. No-one has ever replied to the many requests for the definition of what uw mean by being "competitive" (excluding one rep who posted the dictionary definition of "competitive)

    8) And despite your protests that this is a genuine guarantee, apart from in your sales literature and advertising, any mention of the "TVG" is conspicuous by its absence from the lengthy uw contract ts + cs.

Because you fudge those figures by using a pre-pay card to shop elesewhere.

You are perfectly aware of how expensive UW products are - go to a comparison website and check.

For myself UW is several hundred pounds per year more expensive - that is my 'best deal'

Cardew, you are wasting your time. Carmine et al, just cannot bring themselves to admit the fact that the gas and electric UW supply is very expensive. Ive already challenged anyone to show me any postcode area in the UK, using MSE recommended 'energyhelpline', that shows UW as the cheapest providor. Its painful to read the wriggling on a public forum.

Well, you must admit the Triple Value Guarantee does that as the specifications are quite detailed.

Cardew, if Carmine were to let you miss out the Prospero magazine, what have got to beat his challenge then?

Quite right. Nobody has said that Utility Warehouse unit prices are the cheapest. However, they can work out the cheapest overall for many people. Carmine put his challenge up and nobody can provide him with a better deal. I put my figures up and showed that I pay less than I would with the cheapest offering from another forum member, and, that was before the price reduction.

You get the best value for you in your circumstances, excellent. I use Utility Warehouse and get the best value in my circumstances. Why would anybody have a problem with that? Carmine has looked at what he wants and has found a deal with Utility Warehouse that suits his requirements and it appears that nobody can find him a cheaper one.

This is a money saving site and it appears that some people just will not accept that others have different wants to their own. The bottom line is, *I* pay less for my utilities than with any other company or companies, in the way *I* want to.
