NOT true.....you have a ton of freinds here you've made over the time....(I consider you my second mum!)

    Careful Phil,

Maybe you should have gone for older sister.:D :D

That'd be more accurate; she seems like a baby sis to me.:D :D

dalip , i would just like to say that im sorry you have lost your job but you dont know for sure that staying with the other job was going to guarentee you would still have one now .

You are in the right place , people on here really care and you have done the right thing ,

You say you have all the things in the house you would like to do like your kitchen etc , what about freecycle people are always offering things like paint , laminate in my area .

You could have a Painting party where instead of brining drink people bring paint .. wilkinsons has cheap brushes and paint at the moment btw ..

perhaps save some money in a jar in the house so that you and your oh can go on a good night out . I save pennies and 5ps as i get loads of these and you will see how quickly it adds up.

best of luck and i hope that gradually you will come to terms with what has happened and accept that you can now start to live your live instead of worrying about all your debts

    Good morning dalip,

Not too much to say except reading your story makes me realise how much better it is for ME to be on my own dealing with all this. My ex husband was very much a head in the sand merchant and after our divorce the house was sold just to pay off the financial debris from his so called business and avoidance of dealing with stuff like tax and NI !
I am thinking of you and sending more hugs today.
Take yourself out for a long walk in the fresh air and clear your head a bit perhaps - away from the family and the phone for a while.
    Very best wishes

I would SA but we have thunder/lightening.... and its absolutely chucking it down here:rotfl:

    Hi Dalip

I know exactly where your coming from, it is a struggle we are on DLA and are actually worst off than on JSA!!!! we dont get Housing benefit, we have to pay for optitian/dentist/prescriptions and our Council tax!

I know having to shoulder the burden of familys debts when you have delt with yours must be hard, especially if they still have there heads in the sand.

Edit : I really miss a good steak too!!
sorry to but in to your post but i would like to suggest you check out entitledto.com as you may be able to get more money than you think as
dla is not counted as and income towards hb and council tax benefits

so are you currently except for the dla earning nothing .. ?

Good morning dalip, :hello: :hello: :hello:

Good to see you feeling a bit more positive today. :T

  • Hey Dalip, just to reinforce what others have said, this site isn't just for advice (IMO) it's also for people to vent their spleen. Putting down in writing what has been bugging you can be extremely cathartic and often allows you to sleep better as it's out your system.

Sorry i made a mistake in what i said, (down to illness, sorry) theres two of us, but we get IB and low rate of DLA, due to that we dont get any CT rebate and get about £5per week towards HB. Were not entitled to anything else!!! I worked it out and if we were claiming JSA we would be approx £10 per week better off before prescriptions/optitians/dentist!!! The system sucks lol. Were actually worst off due to Cost of living rises (which they take of HB, even though the rents gone up!!).

Not that my thread was a whine about my entitlement, just a support for Dalip, that shes not the only one.

Haa well roll on September ive been accepted on a Uni course so hopefully things will look up then :o
