Strange call/Text- anyone heard of CSL???

I've had problems with these people too. They e-mailed me and asked me to call them. When I called, they wouldn't tell me anything about who they are or what they want unless I gave them all my personal details - name, address, d.o.b, mother's maiden name... basically all the details someone whould need to impersonate me. Why would they expect someone to ring an unknown number and give all that data without knowing who they were giving it to?! Mad. They were really rude and aggressive too.0

CSL's automated service called me in error today. They assumed they were calling a neighbour with a similar name and address: this has been happening for years with other debt collection companies. Their agent was polite, unlike some of the other complete numpties we have had to call in similar circumstances. However, they need not have got in touch with us at all if they had been more careful with their basic research.0

I have just had an automated message from csl and was on hold for ages. I don't know what to do it has got me worrying. I know I have debts and the only one that were threatening with collection were talk talk and I have a problem with them as they did not even take over my line. I just don't know what to do now.0

They have been calling me for weeks. An automated message was left on my answer machine asking me to call them on 0208 763 4534 and quoted a reference number. I was ignoring it then the message said it was urgent so I called them. They wanted my date of birth and address which I was not prepared to give them as I had no idea who they were. They were very rude to me on the telephone when I wouldn't give them this information. I do not owe anybody any money and have an excellent credit rating so does anybody have any ideas as to why they may be calling me? I do have an MBNA card. Thanks
Well we had the same problem but i called them, and they wanted the reference number, the guy on the phone advised me their company name is Credit Solution, i informed him to take our details from their system as we are not the person they chasing for.0 -
I've had loads of messages and texts from CSL, but I've never been home to answer their call. I knew straight away it would be related to TalkTalk. I wrote my complaint letter to Head of Complaints- CEO's Office
TalkTalk Group
P.O. Box 344, Unit 19, Southampton, SO30 2NP
sent it by registered post. 2 days later TalkTalk (an actual person with a direct line you could call him back and everything!) rang me and waived all charges and said they'd get the credit company off my back. Was the most sensible conversation I ever had with TalkTalk after 5 months of grief. Haven't had a voicemail from Credit Solutions since...fingers crossed.I have just had an automated message from csl and was on hold for ages. I don't know what to do it has got me worrying. Slightly OT so apologies, but just scanned through this thread and thought it's funny how different people have such vastly different experiences with DCAs... I have a debt with CSL (my smallest one) which I'm now paying off through my DMP, and I remember being terrified when I had my initial letter from them, but rang them (pre-MSE days!) and the chap was very courteous on the phone, explained everything etc. Went into my DMP which included them, and had no problems at all, they haven't added charges or interest and every time I've rung them to double check my balances they've been extremely helpful and polite. To be honest, I can't say enough good things about them, especially after all the really bad things I've read on these forums about the more, shall we say, notorious DCAs!
I guess to those people who genuinely do have a debt that's been passed to them, I would say keep communicating with them - that's all I've done, and as I've said, my experience has been (insofar as it can be in this situation!) an overall positive one!

My Father is recieving automated calls and texts from CSL, first they ask if he is "Joe Bloggs" (example) which he isnt and to press 1 or 2 blah blah and he just ends the call. But now hes getting text messages saying they cant wait any longer!!!
Is there anyway to stop these calls its really getting my dad down, he hasnt got any debts, store cards or credit cards so what can we do.
Any help will be really apprecaited.0 -
Yep, Credit Solutions Limited.
I've had dealings with them recently for a debt that's not mine. It's for a water bill that my late uncle had and I had informed the water company of my uncle's death who sold the debt on to CSL and I've referred them to the solicitors dealing with the estate (I don't have Power of Attorney). CSL didn't believe me and got nasty, called me a liar etc, etc; they've since stopped now that the solicitors are dealing with them!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
I received a call from someone identifying himself as Paul from CSL and asking to speak to the managing director. As that happens to be me, I said it was the managing director speaking to him, and he immediately hung up.
What was that all about?
As it sounds like it might be relevant, I'll tell you that two weeks ago we missed the monthly payment on an MBNA business card. Not a debt management problem, just an accident, and it was paid in full a few days later.
Why would he hang up having got straight through to the managing director? The only obvious answer I can think of is that he wanted to verify the phone number - can I now expect a stream of automated calls?!!
