Strange call/Text- anyone heard of CSL???

This company makes me laugh. Just had a voice text from them asking to ring so I did and they told me they was closed but the answering machine said they was open until 20:30 on Fridays. I called at 19:45.

Had 12 calls now from CSL all leaving varying numbers. they have started to tie up my phone line so when I try and hang up and use the phoen theyre still there. Hung on and they said they were after a different persons name - but gave my street name correctly which was odd, gave me the persons name too. Now apparently they are removing my number - and it'll take 48 hours to go through. within 5 minutes of this I then had a text message asking for me to ring them again !!!!!! ggggrrrrrrr

I have had card from these people saying they are calling on Wednesday - no date given - do anyone know if they actually do call to your house as I am writing to them rather than phoning cos someone on here said they are aggeresive on phone and as I am recovering from cancer surgery I don't feel up to a fight

They have been calling me for weeks. An automated message was left on my answer machine asking me to call them on 0208 763 4534 and quoted a reference number. I was ignoring it then the message said it was urgent so I called them. They wanted my date of birth and address which I was not prepared to give them as I had no idea who they were. They were very rude to me on the telephone when I wouldn't give them this information. I do not owe anybody any money and have an excellent credit rating so does anybody have any ideas as to why they may be calling me? I do have an MBNA card. Thanks

Have a look at www.oft.gov.uk , go to the Debt Collection Guidelines and see that they are breakiing their own 'Industry' Rules.

Report them to the OFT. Its FREE and ANONYMOUS. The more Complaints about a Co, the quicker they get into trouble. Simples.

They are indeed in breach of OFT guidelines so do place in complaints, also for above posters by giving out the name they are in breach of data protection.

I know both csl and power2contact their sister company very well, I will say their staff are far from rude and are in fact very fair compared to most.

I've just googled this company and the MSE website posts were top of the page! I have had about 6 phone calls a day from this company over the last 10 days - all relating to my ex who moved out 6 years ago. If I pick up the phone I always get the delay of an automated dialling system, and then they either hang up or I get an automated message asking my ex to phone them.

I decided to phone back on Saturday morning. The first person who answered the phone asked for a reference number and when I said I didn't have one and that I was calling about....... He hung up at that stage. I was more annoyed now so I phoned straight back. I spoke to a lady and told her I had had non-stop phone calls from them over the last couple of weeks. She only asked for my telephone number, didn't ask for any other information. When I gave it to her she said there was no such number on their system! I would have given her my ex's contact details if she had asked but she said the phone number was not on their system, and she apologied and said she would make sure it stopped. I didn't get any more phone calls on Sat or yesterday but they have started again today.

I think after reading this I'll carry on ignoring them and deleting the answer phone message. But it is so annoying having to check the caller display every time the phone rings. :mad:

You seem to know DCA, s quite intimately , far from rude, quite fair , how about , obnoxious , abusive ,bullying , nasty , rude, intimidating , agresive , plonkers.

Julie, if the phone calls from them do not stop, write to them and tell them to remove your phone number under DPA. If they refuse, inform the ICO for investigation.
