Hi Sarah and Swinstie, good idea to make a list and cross out when used up :D

I did it with the food cupboards and freezer and I found it scary to do with the cosmetics and skincare stash, I never did this. I think I will do it now. I don't have a stashing problem with the cleaning products I am ok with these and don't overspend.

Will write the list in my notepad, better make sure there are a lot of pages left!

Magni - waves and hi, you're doing well hun :D

I broke and bought a bar of chocolate today. What's really annoying is that I didn't really get to enjoy as I wolfed it down. I always do. I never really enjoy it square by square. Oh well. Blip number three in 50-odd days. Back to the challenge.

Still making in-roads on that toiletries stockpile. It is satisfiying to cross products off the list. Mine is 3 pages long (A5!). It does feel great to finish one product and start a new one.

I have a mass of hair styling products that I don't have on my list. May need to start to style my hair just to use them up and get some more space on the dressing table and in the drawer.

Bottle of Radox showergel that was tucked away at the back of the shower used up this morning :T One I got ages ago when Tescos were paying people to take certain things away thanks to health and beauty vouchers out at the time. I sold the rest of the stash this time last year so this one had been in the shower for over a year with just a little bit used  :o:eek: all gone now though.

Just 2 bottles of Lush shower gel from the grab bag I bought after Christmas to go and then I'm back on my favourite Soap and Glory stuff. So I've almost used up all the random facial moisturiser and shower gel and have already done so for Shampoo/Conditioner. It's body moisturisers, scrubs, hand cream, bath stuff and face masks I still have loads of....

Molton Brown toner (100ml)which I had for ages - goodness knows how long anyway now its gone!

Onto Liz Earle Skin Tonic (50ml) now

Tomorrow a Molton Brown Zhang Zhi Shower Gel (300ml) will be finished as one shower's worth left in the bottle. Shower Gel collection is reducing veeerrry slooooowwllly indeed, not adding to the stocks at all.

Hopw everyone is ok and doing well on the using up stocks.

Felt mega tempted last night to buy the YBF one time only whe popped QVC on late last night. Luckily it sold out while I convinced myself I did not need anymore make up.

Some days feel easy and some days are more difficult to get through. QVC feels like a huge trigger. Triggers off a chain reaction of emotions and feelings to buy and convince myself that I need 'it'

Why isn't it getting any easier in the long term

Maybe my decision to not buy these things isn't strong enough?

I bought a mascara from Prescriptives the other day as I am about to run out of my current one and yet I feel I let myself down by doing this. It came in a little kit with an eye pencil and sm eye make up remover and lg mascara (and yes from QVC :o) Wasn't too bad a price and it arrived today in record time.

It's arrival has reminded me how I feel I have let myself down by doing this. What is it I fel down about? Not buying the mascara as I need one (for a change!), must be buying it from QVC that I am upset about. instead of buying a cheapish one Collct*on 2*** or N*mber 17 I caved in amd bought an expensive one when I told myself I wouldn't do this

3 steps forward and 1 step back, keep on going in the right direction

Finished the 15ml LE Deep cleansing mask yesterday, and decided I can live without the other one, so will stick it on eBay later/tomorrow. Just looking at my list, I still have such a long way to go..... although a lot of it does belong to OH, its me that stockpiles his stuff... if it were to him to buy it, he would run out all the time!

I don't think you should worry about this too much FedUp, you waited until you needed it before you bought it! And I know it was probably an expensive one, but if you use mascara all the time, then I don't see what the harm is.... I am working on the stockpiling issue first, and then the cost of things second. I personally don't wear a lot of make up so only use a cheap mascara, but I wouldn't switch to a cheaper shower gel for example, as DS and I use the same, so I want an organic chemical-free one which is invariably more expensive!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say, I love this challenge! I'm still away from home with work so I haven't managed to count my stockpile but I will do it in the week. Brace yourselves! I walked past a Boots yesterday which was having a big sale (up to 70% off!!!) but I remembered the challenge and walked quickly on. I had to tell myself I have a 100% shop in the drawers at home. It's good to be able to confide in you guys what a massive trauma it was for me!

I am also using stuff up. Even the nice things, like fancy foot scrubs, which I've obviously bought and then thought I'll keep them for best, like they're too nice or too expensive to actually use them! It's madness.

I've just finished a 4ml (yes tiny) facial toner spray. Small steps!

    Have a good day everyone.

Forgot to say, I'm not sure whether I mentioned this before but I'm also giving up takeaway coffee for this challenge. I think I thought about it but was to scared to make it official. But it's done now. (Is this the thread for that?!)

Thanks Sarah for your kind words that have helped me refocus. It's hard not to beat myself up about it but you don't get anywhere thinking like that. So off to do my list of stocks I go ready to cross off what I use up and see the stockpile go down!

Used up the Molton Brown Shower gel up as promised. One more down one Molton Brown full size left to go, will have taken more than 2 years to use up the MB stocks I bought from QVC and I have given many bottles away as presents in that time. Sorry everyone, no more will be left to give as gifts! I might ask for one for Christmas though and treasure it!

On Friday night I finished a little tube (c.30ml) of Crabtree and Evelyn moisturiser that I've been using on my feet. I got this in the hotel we stayed at at the start of our honeymoon nearly 3 years ago so we carried in around the rest of our honeymoon (which included using quite a lot of public transport) bought it home and have moved house since then and still I hadn't used it! I'd used the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner up but not the moisturiser - and in the mean time I've bought and been given lots more moisturiser  and so this challenge has really shown me that when I get things, decide to take the nice things from hotels (not that I stay at posh hotels very much!) I need to use them straight away.

Yesterday used up a shampoo and conditioner so onto my last bottles of each now  they're Avon ones I haven't used before as they were very cheap after Christmas, then got some stuff on offer in Boots and have been using that . Going to see if my hair likes this shampoo this week as I have an Avon catalogue at the moment and could buy some for a lot less than my usual from Boots.
