    HI Everyone

Finished a full size bottle of Lancome Sensation Totale this monrning - will use the little packs I have got now and then move onto No7 P&P. Recently I have also:
    • finished a night cream
    • finished a body lotion
    • converted a thick day cream into a night cream (too greasy for day use)
    • used a big pot of imitation Molten Brown handcream as body lotion - nice and thick!
    • finished some listerine so have replaced that.
I hope to finish a couple of other products this week. I do have to admit to buying some bath creme but to my defence I use it to refill a handwash and it was on offer. It will keep me going til the end of the year.

Am off to check out my dad's stash of stuff. He always has bits and pieces in his collection that he donates to my cause in exchange for home-made bread (he works in a supermarket and gets great woopsies!). I know where i get my hoarding tendencies. I found 15 tubes of toothpaste at their house when I last checked. It'd be silly not to help them out. :D

Keep going with those products. There must be an end to them somewhere!

    Hi All,

Well I have finished a Radox shower gel and a tube of spot gel (must get more though as I have a HUGE spot on my chin)! Or I could try toothpaste!? Dilemmas!

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie to this thread. I can't sleep and have just read the thread from start till now. I thought I was the only one with mad stockpiles of toiletries and cosmetics and, well, most things really. The three drawers of my bedside table are full, I've got two large plastic storages boxes full, a large bathroom cupboard full and bits and pieces of toiletries all over the place. So, I know you're halfway through this challenge, but can I join in please? My plan was to cut back on loads of things for exactly three months until my birthday, but as I've found you lovely kindred spirits, I'd really like to tag along with you all. If that's allowed, I'll post my resolutions (no toiletries, cosmetics, clothes etc!).

    Welcome Hopeful34,

Try listing all your toiletries/cosmetics/perfume - you will get a shock! I did this and have a grand total of 238 items (now down to about 234)! Good luck!

P.S. You will probably have enough stuff to finish this challenge, and the next one!

P.P.S. I finished a face powder and an Olay moisturiser this morning, yeah!

Day 50 today so half way through for all those that started on Easter Monday :T:T

Over the weekend I used up:

    • Rest of origins face moisturiser on feet as I really didn't like the smell (of the origins product ;)) :o
    • Another mini bottle of bubble bath - 1 left - will be glad when these are gone and need to encourage my mum to buy me Soap and Glory and Molten Brown again this year for birthday/Christmas rather than the random things she used to, not wishing to be ungrateful, I would just rather have 'useful treats'.
    • Space NK body balm little bottle (pressie from brother - it was nice but will not be tempted! :A)
    • Soap and Glory Hair supply this morning as only 1 application left so thought I'd use up and get rid
    • No7 P&P serum mini - another has had the end chopped off and been used up :T
So not too bad - Magni I completely agree about going 'shopping' from your own stash. It's great fun :o:rolleyes::o my OH calls the boxes in the bottom of my wardrobe "The *name of estate we live on* branch of Boots"!

When I get home tonight I'm going to count up all the things I've used/sold on my spreadsheet and do a half way through summary.

Keep going everyone and welcome to Hopeful34

Day 50 over and one with halfway today on the journey along the long and winding road......

The journey is going well, each step gets a bit more confident to the point where QVC is becomng way less of a trigger than ever before.

It's taken 7mths of doing this challenge to get me to this point where I am not spending on QVC and Ican see through the presenters sell techniques rather than being blinded by it.

The stocks are slowly reducing, only slowly because I had so much stuff to begin with. Still won't need to buy anything other than a mascara for ages yet.

Bring on the next 50 days with gusto to get to the end and revaluate how I will go on from there.

Temptations overcome on QVC - no TSV's from Laura Geller, Ojon, OPI, Liz Earle, Elemis bought. One's still to ignore Gatineau, GHD.......

Hi. Thanks for the welcome. I'm away from home at the moment but when I get home I'll count everything up. I think my totals will dwarf anything I've read so far. That's why I need this challenge! I'm pledging not to buy any toiletries or cosmetics for the next 50 days at least, I'll probably still be in for the next challenge. I'm also going to give up takeaway coffee and I'll only buy clothes and books on ebay with my paypal account, or my ebay tokens as I call them, so I'm money-neutral on that one. Thanks for letting me in. Keep up the good work everyone.

Well done fedup - have to say I've never been a QVC watcher but it's great that you're getting out of the habit of watching it - and the temptation that goes with it .

For me this challenge has made me see that whilst it is fine to have a *few* bottles of say your normal shampoo stocked up if it's on a really good offer and you will use it, it's not worth buying loads of another brand just because it's on offer and then not using it/using a little bit and not liking it, taking the miniatures from hotels and then never using them etc etc.

So 50 days in and nothing bought cosmetic wise, the only things that have come in are 2 Avon face masks I ordered before the challenge started so don't count them and a sachet of handcream in a mag which I used. :A

Just sold the rest of my deoderant 'collection' so £2 more to add to the total and onto my Boots card next time I'm near one - I think my stash needs reducing down from the 3 boxes it's currently in to 2 for now, and something else put in the space I create in the wardrobe. I'm getting to the point when I am going to start completely running out of some things and will need to do some shopping in the next few weeks but I have my Boots card to help with that :T

Thanks so much to those who started this thread and everyone who posts :grouphug:

Well done FedUp, good progress definately being made.... QVC sales must have really dropped since you and I joined this challenge!

Still only one blip for me, so I am happy. HUMP day in the 100 day challenge, bring on the next 50 days :D

    Hi All,

Finished a face powder this morning, I love it when something runs out (but only if you already have another)! Think I'm down to 231 items, from 238! When you think about it, you are saving a fortune using up stuff, otherwise you just keep spending and stockpiling things! I don't even remember how much I have on my Boots card but in the past I have bought 2 bottles of perfume, a cosmetics case and something else I can't remember, so have had well over £100 in points - that is some spending!
