Starting to get towards the bootom of various bottles and jars and I'm fighting the urge to buy a magazine. Hopefully(!) a new book'l arrive this week that my brother bought me for my birthday so I can add that to the 15 other books waiting to be read.
Have decided that once I've used everything up I'm going to replace them with a quality product and not buy several different brands that just clutter up the place - hopefully this makes sense to more than me.
Anyway off to enjoy the sun (and read a book)0 -

Makes perfect sense to me and probably most people on this thread:rotfl:
Still going ok here. Still not made it to the bottom of the everlasting day cream and night cream but fingers crossed it could happen any day soon.100 Day Pot £13

Day 28 out 33 for me! Still not bought anything and even have enough toiletries for holidays without having to buy anything (apart from some wipes)! Agree with Vixstar & Magni about buying quality stuff once all the tat is finished! I'd like to try and stick to one brand, that I like even if it is a bit more expensive. Well done everyone x0

A night time lip balm used up now, see what else there is over the next week. Hang in there everyone. I've managed to stop watching QVC quite so much over the last week and as a result I feel I am regaining some control again over this habit.
When I do put it on it is only for a few minutes and I am more objective and realise exactly what they are doing, persuading us to spend our money on things we can't possible live without.
Thanks fedup, the blame is firmly lying at OH's door, although I am secretly quite pleased that a) he can actually do an online shop and b) the majority of the things he stocked up on were on offer (and stuff that we use anyway)
Loving watching QVC at the minute, I have totally become immune to their persuasive 'you need this because your life is !!!!! without it'.... except there is a Liz Earle TSV on Tues/Wed. Would be rude not to watch itbut secretly hope that it's something that I don't want!:p

Totally with you on this Vixstar, I will be sticking with my Liz Earle products for my face. This challenge has, however, made me discover a great (and much cheaper:money:) alternative to the Liz Earle body wash, and althought they are quite expensive, I have 'settled' with the L'Occitane hand creams, especially the cherry blossom and the shea butter
Day 40 I think...

I'm glad that I managed to explain my plan clearly. Think it'll take me at least till the end of this 100 days plus another 100 days before I can even attempt to put this plan into action. I'm really suprised by the amount of toiletries and beauty products I have.0

Managed to go into both Boots and the Body Shop to get some presents for friends without buying anything for myself - that's got to be first!
Sadly found yet another bag of smellies I'd stashed in a random cupboard when I moved, so it feels a bit like I'm back to square one with the smellies mountain.:rotfl:0 -
Day 43 for me ( I think) and its going extremely well. I think that the make up will start to give up long before the smellies (have enough shampoo for at least 2 more 100 day challenges! In fact as we approach half way I am already begining to wonder - what will I give up next? This challenge is certainly making me appreciate the space that is currently being created!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
No food bought at work last week, all stuff from home.
Easy week this week - annual leave to cover half term!!!
Will transfer it to making lunches at home for all of us, rather than nipping to bakers/supermarket.
Hope everyone is having a good Bank Holiday - sun shone earlier, clouding over now. We decided to stay put today, kids playing with friends, me pottering around the garden, OH snoozing........0 -
Oooh I don't come on here for a couple of days and everyone starts posting
I too can see there are some things that I'm could go another 100 days without buying but a big thing for me with this challenge has been not going and buying lots of something, especially not if it's not my usual product, just because it's on offer/I have a voucher that's why I've ended up with so much in the past (and pressies/freebies too).
So I'm slowly working out what I like and what I don't with all this using up, the inventory showed me just what I do have - and crossing things off as I use them has really helped and selling bits I know I'll never use has made some money so I can start buying the things I like when I do run out.
Popped some No7 men's samples OH didn't want (anything saying anti-aging or tan basically ) and a random selection of Estee Lauder GWP bits on ebay and after fees, postage etc have made £10.87 :T When I withdraw the money I will put this much onto my Boots card too.
