    Hello,

I know I am late but I'd like to join. I've been thinking about this and like so here we are, I actually started on 1st mayand am giving up buying toiletries. I have so much stuff in my cupboards and freebies I think I should be fine. Thaanks so here we are for working out the 83 days til th eend of the challenge - if it's ok, I will do the 83 day challenge instead of it being 100.

Also, have been thinking about not buyoing newspapers or magazines and reading them at the gym before or after the workout or going to the library. The only excpetion is a saturday when I buy a paper for the TV guide. If I gave them up every other time, could that count?

Can any one recommend a good handcream that sinks in and doesn't smell too artificial?

On a similar note I always bought tons of make up sets from QVC and always had mascara in them. I haven't bought one for years. Can anyone recommend a good non flaky mascara and non smudgy by the end of the day. I really don't want to spend a lot on a mascara as I am due to run out soon.

I also love the shea handcream from loccitaine and used it for ages. When my local stockist stopped selling it I switched to Aveda Hand Relief, which is just as expensive. At Christmas someone bought me a Dove pro-age gift set (which I did take personally - I'm 34:rotfl:), and their hand cream is gorgeous. Soaks right in and really protects. There is a smell to it, no getting away from that, but it's a bit talc-y and quite nice. Not sure what the price is, but I'm sure it will be lower than either of my others!

Can't really help with mascara though - someone told me to get a waterproof maybelline one but it gave me big panda eyes. I like Boots No7 waterproof but it is quite expensive - I bought my last one on my points.

Another good day for me, but not confessing about yesterday LOL. Ok then, bought a belt, but it was only £3 in the sale (and a cheap cardi for work), cos the air conditioning is always on and it's cold!

Anyone else giving up toiletries finding their skin / hair is looking better after using all the products that normally just sit in the drawers????

Normally I'm a bit lazy with body lotions etc but as I can't buy any until July and definately until my big supply has gone I'm slapping it on! Same with hair stuff.
:jI'm loving this challenge, thanks all:j

He he! I'm loving this challenge too! :D
2 questions now. I go through a lot of handcream and for the last couple of years I have used L'Occitane (Honey and Lemon/Shea/Lavender) and I find they really suit my skin.

After I bought the last one (Shea £15) the price made me feel a bit sick at spending this much on handcream. Now I am due to run out soon I am not sure what to buy

Can any one recommend a good handcream that sinks in and doesn't smell too artificial?

Can't help with the new hand cream, I'm having that dilemma too! But, until you can decide, I've got 1 1/2 15ml tubes of L'Occitane honey and lemon that I can pop into the post for you if you'd like them - I don't like the smell :( PM me your addy if you want them :)

Apart from the one slip, I havn't bought anything else :)

:j Another one loving this challenge here :j

My hair is certainly looking better and I'm making a real effort to use all the things on my face and using body lotion and hand cream like it's going out of fashion so hopefully it's helping.

    Over the weekend I:
    • Got rid of a bottle of bubble bath that is about 3 years old, used another identical one up last week and it was rubbish, the bubbles disolved straight away so I decided to just pour the other away as I like my bubbly baths - nothing else that old luckily but goes to show things need using up (or might of just been rubbish in the first place ;))
    • Used up another bottle of bubble bath, a big bottle of radox with a little bit in the bottom, don't know why I hadn't finished it before
    • Used up a little sachet of shower gel I found lurking in the bathroom
Also went to Boots to get some pantyliners as I'd completely run out (even after Boots very kindly sent me 3 free samples in the post the other week - must of known about this challenge ;)) They came with a money off coupon and this made them cheaper than my normal ones so I bought these and nothing else, walked past all the reduced stuff :T:T

    Forgot to add earlier that:

    • I used up the last of a bottle of 'intensive' hand cream on Sunday- have been putting it on every night with my cotton gloves as I've been getting really dry hands, even cut the top of the tube to get the last out :A. Have now started with another hand cream which isn't as nice but will use it up
    • This morning I finished another tube of facial exfoliating wash which I got free with Boots vouchers last autumn - onto the last tube of this now (had quite a few).
    • Also finished a razor blade so onto another one of those too - got some of these when I returned something I had a reaction to just before I started this challenge
    • Finished a tiny sample pot of nivea which I took to work for my hands and hated so glad it was only tiny and now all gone.
Also sold 2 nail varnishes, one I already have that colour, another I wouldn't use at all - £3.50 for the both so have made £29.50 now :T
