ok - time to start thinking about July _pale_

Bills total including minimum payments on 3 CCs: 1118

    Petrol budget: 30

    Food budget: 80

    Total needed: 1228

    Income:

    WTC: 107

Office plus teaching and invigilating: 625

    AQA already earned: 117

Need to earn on AQA before 30 June: 379.00

In 12 days..........31 per day - it ain't gonna happen.........

I have the £60 water refund cheque that can come off this and £24 in my quidco first reserve account. I am waiting for a £28 cheque from music magpie hopefully coming soon, so that is £112 off the amount, taking it down to £267 on AQA in 12 days........23 per day. Better figure to aim for but still lots of work on top of the office job, the teaching and teaching prep.

I'm not even thinking about the car tax due at the end of July..........

I just did something rather MSE and positive whilst the forum disappeared for a bit :D

I have 3 credit cards, all at approx 15% APR and at the moment I'm only paying the minimum amount plus a few pennies more ( if I can ) until my work situation improves. I stuck the figures into the snowball calculator and it came out at 83 months to pay off at the minimum payment

Now, I know I wouldn't end up doing that because things will change work wise etc, but that is the worst case scenario.

About 6 weeks ago, I tried to apply for 2 CC's both at 0% to BT as much as possible and got knocked back by both. I think it's because I have a few CC's with zero balances.

I also tried for a LoB and got knocked back by that.

Anyway, in a fit of boredom just now I went to moneysupermarket.com and the Barclaycard Simplicity was top of the list. The pre-checker said my profile for likelihood of acceptance was 'excellent' and the LoB is 6.8% so I thought, what the hell and put I needed to transfer 4,500 (it's not as much as that, just worked it out- whoops!). I was a bit reticent as many years ago I was naughty with them but I have a squeaky clean record with them now (nothing at all on my file as all paid up years ago)

    I was accepted :D:T:j

I don't know my limit but I'm going to move as much as I can onto the LoB.

The snowball now says 1 debt of £3,800 at 6.8% at a minimum 5% repayment is 40 months :D

So, as long as I get enough credit limit to shift it all, my worst case scenario for the CCs is 40 months.

Obviously i'm thinking more like 12-15 months for the whole 5.5k debt I have (CCs plus overdraft) but if worst comes to the worst and I have to keep plodding on, I think I've made a very positive move by chopping off over 10% APR each month.

Now saying a little prayer to the CC god for a big enough limit to get it all moved :A

    but of course :D

I have to say I wish in a way my getting back in debt was through frivolity and spending on fun and fast living, but sadly it was literally paying my way month to month.

Well, with £200 twice a year on a holiday perhaps.......cough.....:o

I hope you get a good job soon. Or there will have to be hard decisions made.
