Well, fortunately the mortgage came out today a day late and it wasn't a problem with it coming out over Easter and other stuff meaning there were insufficient funds (phew!)

I had it confirmed that my main teaching course this term won't run due to low numbers (I already knew this to be honest) which is a bit  as it will mean even less in my main income. Luckily, the list of exams/availability was emailed to invigilators and I went on the 'books' last term. I've said 'yes' to every available slot possible. There are about 6 people in total, so I should hopefully get a fair few exams to do. I won't earn as much as I would in the teaching as the rate is half but it's better than nothing.

OH is going to be out tonight watching the football somewhere so I really need to beat myself around the head with a wet kipper and do some AQA whilst he is out, no excuses.

I'm also wondering when my National Insurance refund will arrive and whether it will be a cheque or electronic transfer. I paid Class 2 each month for 12 months even though I ended up earning under the small earnings limit on AQA so I've asked for a refund. That was about 3 weeks ago so I guess I'll get it soon? It's around £100 which will be very gratefully received!

BB you must ring them up and ask them, they are notoriously slow and only seem to speed up when you query things with them...

I don't know about NI BB but when I have had a VAT refund it has been directly into the business bank account. Funny really because I have never given them the bank details, just sent a cheque for the VAT owed so they must have it from there.

that's ok shaun - I'm more than happy to hear about your medical situation :) It doesn't sound nice :(

I've just found a £4 postal order in the bread bin (as you do). It is dated 6 November 2008 so just about in date still! I think i'll cash it tomorrow. However, I have absolutely no idea where it came from

Sammy...........hmmmm..........think I might well give them a tinkle........

Beanie - don't think it will affect my WTC. I'm waiting for this years assessment letter but my income is about the same as last year and all my Class 4 is up to date through my salary. When I put in my tax return next month, I'll phone them with the exact amount sothey can adjust the figures but I don't think it will make a huge difference - famous last words
