it does take time Sammy, I guess it just shows that life has little surprises around each corner and just when you think you've dealt with something, it can come back again. However, at least I'm more than armed to fight it this time as I know all of the MSE tricks already

BB I'm not a million miles away from you, if ever you fancy a walk along the beach or some other dfw activity let me know
I know what you mean about aqa, its sooo dull and hard to omotivate yourself to get going with it  Can I ask about the situation with your partner, I know you say he has his own place / bills etc, but if he's staying at yours 7 nights a week would it not be possible to rent his out, even if only for a while?
Also I'm with Scottishpower, and I was paying £41 a month and mine shot up to £71 a month in feb. I submitted a new reading this week and its gone back down to £59 a month and I expect it to go down again next time. You can submit readings whenever you like online and they tell you instantly what you owe / if your dd's will be changing etc. I have been with them nearly 2 years now and they still work out the best for me.
Good luck with the journey and well done for recognising the situation before your savings have all gone;)Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

he'd never rent his place out benben - and to behonest it still needs loads doing to it.
I'm going to look at the figures when the money from my shares and the bit from the closed account comes to me and I'm hoping that I can pay it all off, or all of it apart from the DD due out on 1 May. I will then put in new readings and see what it says. When I phoned, the lovely lady at CS said I could pay £60 something if I could pay off this bill, which would be better.
Thankyou for the offer, I bet you've had a lovely few days just down the road from me."Stay Wonky":D

BB~Just wanted to pop over & say hi BB & if anyone can do it then you can.
It is hard with only one main income & I think you are right to try to not let your savings reduce more if you can help it.
Use the interest from your ISA though.

1 income is a really difficult situation to live with. Just a few hundred more would make life so much easier.

I have a bit of a bee in my bonnet on this one income thing as in the main we still have the same expenses as if there were two of us.
We will get there in the end though I often think I wont ever be debt free but at least if I can hopefully reduce it.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
