Last week I read about getting a free flight from Flybe through their CC so I applied (thought it would be good to 'bank' for something next year) and was instantly accepted.

The card arrived today - with a 3k limit  I thought there was supposed to be a recession on! Not that I'm going to use it - I'll probably spend something like £5 in Somerfield to get the free flight and then just pay it off when I get the statement.

You hear about all this tightening of procedures, lowering of limits etc etc but it doesn't seem to be happening. I added up - and for the live CC's I have (mostly applied for to get cashback etc over the last 12 months), including the £3k I'm now looking to pay off - I have around 22k of available credit on my cards.........:eek::eek::eek:

Did something a bit non-MSE last night :o

About 6 weeks ago I opened my sealed pot and it had about £60 in it. I spent the £1 and 50p coins but had around £40 left in small change that has just been sitting there. I needed to get some ingredients for my course I'm doing Monday (as a learner this time rather than as a teacher :j) and a few bits. I worked out that parking in town was £1.40 and then I was paying Sainsbury prices......so I took it to Asda and used the Coinstar which takes 7% :o I think it took about £2 odd off me but I think I'd not have got as much for my money if I'd have gone to Sainsburys, plus the time factor etc. (okay I'm trying to justify wasting a £1, I admit it! :rotfl:)

Need to pay the 2 CC statements I have. They are the larger 2 balances so will get minimum payments this month. When the statement for the smaller balance arrives I may be able to clear most of it and then I can also clear the gas/electric bill. I'm guessing this could be as early as some time next week :T

Just found this and caught up on it all. Well done for facing up to your new debt though at this rate it will be paid off in next to no time! I'm really excited for you about the jobs and after the challenges you've faced in the past I have no doubts that you can do any one of them - if you'd only believe in yourself as much as we belive in you.
