  • Woohoo:jI love a success story, well done GFH123:Tbe aware you are in danger of becoming a ...............tanoholic;)Welcome to the dark side:rotfl:I'll try to answer some of your points
Half way through my skin looked quite dry & patchy from the leftover other tan, and I thought I was going to end up a scaly nightmare. But this morning I am left with a lovely, even natural colour. Going on it looked terrible, and had clung to the drier patches & I thought it would be a disaster!
This is a really good point for other new users, the product does need to settle for a while.
I didn't get your advice in time GG, so I have actually mixed a tiny amount with moisturiser for my face, and that has turned out really well :)
So glad (and jealous;)) this went well your skin must be better than you thought.
I would guess that 2 more 'coats' will produce the colour I want. I am definitely hooked & am seriously impressed!

Yes definitely, it gives depth rather than more colour, I sometimes have 3 or 4 layers on at once:D
But I have a wedding in 2 weeks time to attend, so my aim is to actually spend this week scrubbing off all the patchy stuff & start afresh.

Can anyone recommend the best way of doing this please?

The best thing for exfoliating is lots of shower gel or soap(this really strips the colour) and good old fashioned gloves which only cost a couple of quid or less and just a really good rub with the towel after your shower or bath at all costs avoid any products with oil or moisturiser if they don't strip your colour then it will fade patchy. I would advise not using a gradual tanner with the siennasol the products don't seem to layer well, my own preferred method is to very lightly exfoliate about once a week and top up my colour roughly every other day depending on how organised I am;)this way I am never pale and it always has that certain glow, thin layers are best. The Siennasol should moisturise you sufficiently without any other product, I do like a body moisturiser and have only found one thats oil free (fake bake) but don't like the £10 cost of it and tbh Siennasol is such a great product I don't feel I actually need it, just fancy it:DI have been known to use my facial moisturiser on my body (Skin Clear from Boots) as its oil free and very cheap this works ok but has no scent and my skin isn't dry anyway so a bit pointless really.

Hi Bubbles35,I am very happy with my Siennasol atm but being the product tart that I am I would love a read of some other products could you put up some links so we could all have a look, personally I wouldn't consider anything less than 16% also its not just about the colour for me but about how it applies, fades and layers also about how it conditions the skin as a stand alone product:)

Thanks for taking the time with such a detailed reply, Glowgirl :)

This morning I scrubbed with shower gel & the body brush, then a vigorous rub with the towel to dry off & that seems to be sorting the patches, so I'll be good to tan again after the weekend methinks!

Another good point was it absorbed & dried very quickly. I gave it about 10 mins as I was faffing in the bathroom, but it left no marks on my white dressing gown which I wore straight after.

I will do a more detailed 'study' from next week, as if starting from scratch & building up the depth of colour. Will also be interesting to see how it fades (not that I shall let it fade much!!) My skin definitely looks & feels allround much nicer today, not just the tan but the condition as you rightly mention in your post.
Proud to be a moneysaver :)
  • Hello

Only found this thread last night! I was looking at getting some Fake Bake on the net cheaper than in a store and came across another site recommending xen tan then after trying to find reviews for xen tan I found a site that recommended Siennasol and React Tanning Solutions.

Now my question is - but I think I know the answer already after going through lots of posts - which is best Siennasol or React Tanning?

    Thanks
  • Oh and while looking around on my lunch break I've found Isis tan? Anyone used that?

I know one of the girls on here likes booster drops...this Isis tan does booster drops with 34% DHA!

Hi Lily73, welcome:) I have only tried the Celebrity Secrets and Siennasol with regard to this type of product if its your first time I would suggest that you go for one of these products cos they have been tested extensively on here;)however if you are going to be brave please let us know how you get on:) Siennasol would seem to be darker than the 16% from CS but if you haven't used 16% before and are a bit wary or just want to start on a lower % try the CS, my daughter uses the 6% with fab results. If you have time I would read through the thread and decide your skin colouring, this would help you decide on a starting point regarding strength/product. Its FelinePrincess who adds the drops to 16% she is the best to advise you on that, I layer 16% every other day and am happy with that darkness, anymore questions or comments are welcome:D

Thanks Glowgirl - how long does Siennasol take to deliver? I read in previous posts that some girls have had a bit of a wait for the tester to arrive (requested that today), but is the delivery of an order quicker?

Hi, your welcome, the testers take ages if they arrive at all, I spoke to them and they said they had so many requests it wasnt possible to send them all out cos it would cost too much so dont hold your breath;)I just got a new delivery ordered on saturday arrived tuesday, very quick usually takes a day or so longer, if you order the small bottle it dosnt fit through the letter box (well not mine anyway) - hth:)

Thansk again Glowgirl - Ok gonna go for it then...going to order my Siennasol tonight!! I'm sooo pale at the moment but have a bit of fake bake left so will top up with that.

Another question though. I had pretty bad acne when I was younger - I've had the laser resurfacing done twice and dermabrassion twice so it's not as bad as it would have been otherwise however i still don't have the lovely smooth skin I crave and have some pock marks (but not deep or anything)...is it good to use on the face or do you recommend something different or a way to put it on the face?

    xo
