How did the LA tan go Feline?? Dying to know

    Me too:D
last lot has faded and I look very pale....... have smoothed on a bit of the Johnsons Holiday Skin just to extend what I've got ........ apart from skin being soft it don't seem to be extending....... debating whether to rip the strapping off......... doing the self tan and then when I've showered off the guide put some more on

I think you have the tanning bug hun:rotfl:Could you not tan around the strapping for now? You wouldn't want to knock it or anything, its not good when you feel pale is it? Just goes to show as well how used you get to a certain level of darkness and nothing quite compares, hope you feel better soon;)

  • Hi all!

Sorry ive taken so long to post about the la tan! I scrubbed all my old tan off and applied 4 or 5 layers of la tan last week. The la tan has a decent colour, quite dark but not outstanding, although I am used to using about 20% or so with booster drops, it is natural looking and nice dark colour guide. I do think it comes off a bit quicker though, on the second day i scrubbed a little bit (not very hard) and a patch came off, this has never happened to me so soon after applying it the past. I haven't really scrubbed since as I want it to last a bit longer and I think it will just come off!

Because of the buy 1 get 1 free offer it worked out to £34.50 for a 1L bottle so it's ok for that price but I don't think I would order it again as I do prefer siennasol. I think I will use the £10 voucher I got from them towards their 100% dha booster drops!

Hows everyone else's tanning going? Hope you are feeling better and back to your usual tanned self Esmecullen!

Hi FelinePrincess, so sorry your not overly impressed with your new product, I'm sure it wont go to waste though:) I agree Siennasol does seem to the superior product of the moment. I am not happy with my colour, my OH made me slave in the garden for 4 hours yesterday and my tan went all patchy where I was sweating so much (yuck yuck yuck) on top of that I have caught the sun cos I was in a vest top and now I have a tan line, yes just one, on my shoulder, I haven't had one of these for years and it looks a mess:rotfl:I am going to have a tanning session tonight to restore order and try to cover all the scratches and bruises from my first and last gardening session;)

Definately got the bug glowgirl :rotfl:I definately dont feel right if I dont have any colour on me. Have taken your advice, and applied around the strapping, it was a bit fiddly but think I got there in the end! Got a nice colour now and it has lifted my spirits:D

Sorry to hear the LA solution dont seem to be as good FelinePrincess......... will give that a miss. I agree that the Siennasol is great........... definately a deeper colour even though I done only one appication............ will do another application tomorrow night as I wont be able to do it at the weekend. Hope it last though the weekend.

Poor glowgirl hope normal colour resumes............. now you can say to OH........ this is why I dont garden:rotfl: Tell OH that it affects your beauty regime;)
total airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D

    Hi all

Quick question for you if that's ok. Apologies if it's been asked already, have read most of the thread but must leave the house!

I have naturally quite yellow toned, olivey skin. I have just tried Make Believe but it made very little difference to my colour. I'm looking for a really deep tan.

It seems Siennasol Extreme might be the answer, but I know people use a high % Celeb Secrets too. Is one better than the other? I will be ordering this weekend so any pointers would be gratefully received :)

Hi and welcome GFN123:) With the skin type you have most products should work well however I have heard of some people building up a kind of tolerance to dha (the active ingredient in most fake tans) so maybe you are right and a stronger product is needed, I have used the Make Believe product previously and wasn't impressed either, however their make up is lovely:) I have used CS 16% and the Siennasol Extreme, also 16% and would say I prefer Siennasol in terms of colour and lasting power and also they way in which it fades (no patches) not that I let it fade that much;) I also had delivery problems with CS which just simply annoyed me but I would order from them again if I needed a lower %.

If you haven't used a professional product before like the two mentioned please read the application advice on this thread cos the product is very different from anything you can buy on the high street. Your number one essential item is a mitt applicator (half price in Boots) after that you will need surgical gloves, a back applicator(unless you have help) and a small spray bottle (optional but essential imo). Best of luck, let us know which product you choose, if you have any more questions, fire away:D

Thanks Glowgirl :) Excellent advice, I'll definitely read over how to apply.

Siennasol sounds perfect, most tans do fade somewhat patchily on me so what you've said is reassuring.

I shall go & order & post back with results.

    Thanks again! :D

  • I'm just about to run out of Suntana so might try Siennasol.

My spray tan gun thingy is knackered, so my lovely fella has been using his air compressor.

It's noisy but it works - he's even learnt to blend it in afters!

hey guys :D i have been reading through some of the posts. i am soo soo naturally pale i am a total milk bottle, i have tried every single type of develping tan there is, and none of them are ever dark enough. i always end up putting sun shimmer on my top half and sally hansen on my legs! but reading through the comments both the celebrity secrets and siennasol sound like the they would be the darkness i want to acheive. are these products meant for use in an airbrush machine but you guys just apply them with a mitt? oooh another thing i wanted to ask was how well does it turn out on ur armpits? i hate wearing sum shimmer cos if u sweat whilst wearing it and a white top its is disaster zone lol!
  • Hi playgirl_emz, yes just apply with a mit, if you have a read through there's lots of advice on this thread about application, hope the tanning goes well! :D

Hows everyone else's tanning going? Anyone tried vaseline aloe fresh moistursing body gel? I brought some the other day I have only tried it once on my legs and it wasn't greasy at all, noticed glycerin is one of the ingredients, I can't see any oil in the ingredients list but maybe it's called something else?

Still need to get round to buying the fake bake moisturiser!
