Well done Lola on joining the library, that’s great! I am, as you may have gathered, a great fan of libraries as they save you money, stop you cluttering up the house too much (by buying books) and are a great resource, and you can order books you want online and they arrive by magic at your local library! Tip: if you order online, try to get large print as they are free. If you order normal print there is a small charge in this county, not sure about nationwide. And well done on doing level one!

Big hugs Jo, hope you feel better after a good night’s sleep

Eeeek! I’ve just looked at my inbox. I have 449 emails, and 281 of them are unread! And it looks like they will remain unread! They are just junk ones anyway. Does it count as flying to delete them?

    Evening all

Toots I'm so glad you had a lovely day and hope your treatment went ok

Hex - I hope you have cashed the cheque or have cleared fund and good luck for Friday

Jill - re dinner I'd say don't give up. All of my kids used to hate cottage pie but we had it tonight and now it is one of their favouite meals. I continued to serve it up every few weeks and eventually they got used to it. It can take 40 offering before a child get's used to a new food. Try not to stress. A child is very unlikely to starve themselves. Also tastes are odd - DS2 and I don't like tomatoes but love tomatoe soup - other two love tomatoes but only one eats soup.

    wednesday list all done.

mo5 - sorry your back is bad but well done DS1 on the hoovering :)

gratefulforhelp - yes I do try and do the catch them being good thing. The toddler is a nightmare but too young to get her to do what I want LOL though I am working on it
DD1 is pretty easy going, always was even as a baby, but DS, well I just dont know how to parent him at all. No matter how miuch time and attention I give him, no matter how much positive stuff I do, no matter how many boundaries I set and stick to, no matter how much freedom I let him have to grow up a bit, its never enough, e just pushes and pushes and pushes. And he never shuts up, he shrieks, shouts, kapows, yeehas and makes crazy noises from the minute he wakes up til the minute he goes to sleep. We let him play the DS as a treat and we get mad sound effects, he wont sit still to watch telly for very long (yes I know this is technically a good thing), though he does occasionally sit to do colouring or drawing or lego. He wont sit in a room where the others arent, and I cant let him have lego in the playrrom cos DD2 just wrecks it then. So he only plays in the playroom which is full of babytoys and I suspect this is why he bounces off the walls cos he's bored. If I let the baby out of the playroom she trashes the rest of the house. If I sit in the playrrom with him doing something on the sofa baby wants to join in and has a headbutting tantrum if she doesnt get what she wants.
DS does really well at school but is a dithererer who does stuff slowly but they report that his concentration is fine, and he's in the top set for Numeracy and Literacy (he's in Year 1). I have always wondered if there is something underlying not quite right IYSWIM as he is so loud and frantic but hubby won't consider that and so I havent pursued it. Plus maybe I am just being oversensitive and he's just being a boy.
I meant to bring my Raising Boys book tonight to see if yer man has any ideas.

Oh. I meant to post this later, didnt mean to post it now. I seem to have a lot to offload at the moment, sorry, its all a bit negative and moany.

soappie - lovin that plan for the night !
oh yeah and whan I say pudding I really mean fruit ! they diont actually get proper pudding, none of them like it, but I do try and get them to have some fruit and they usually comply, eso DD2, she loves melon!

mozzy - you are quite right, 6pm is a bit late, I try for 530 during term time, and if they are playing nicely I do have a tendency to leave them to get on with it and then serve it up when it all goes pear shaped. Should I interrupt the play instead of waiting for it to wrong maybe? I'll post the routine in a bit as well anyway
on the geocaching - can you get a buggy to most places > I am dying to have a go at this but not sure how buggy friendly ??

    mozzy, toots, soappie and blueberrypie
I will post a tea time routine in a bit. Need to cook my tea then watch The Apprentice, so it will be after 10 before I get to post it. But any suggestions would be really welcome, just be gentle with me, dont tell me I am a hopeless dinner provider LOL and soappie I will answer the questions then as well

AND WOOO BLUEBERRYPIE I AM FROM Norn Nrn too WOOHOOOOO
    BOUT YE

Mudbath - good health vibes for your Dad
rose - we will have to be cheerful buddies and keep each other's chin's up :)
toots and AnW's and others - rose and I know we shouldnt think like that and we dont really, I am sure I can speak for rose as well that of course we wouldn't ever wasnt to upset anyone or be insensitive, and of course its not meant like that, and we will try to keep thinking positive and be gratful for all our blessings :A:A
Depression is a funny thing. You can look at your life and see all the wonderful things in it that you have to be thankful for and yet there is a black cloud. It makes no sense, But it does help to talk and to know there are others who understand.

hex - sorry about the client, bummer for you, and for them. Glad they paid you, hope you can fine another to fill the gap if thats what wil help.

toots - glad today went well, you are an inspiration to us all with your positivity

Hello all.....I have news...no flying, but for a good reason!

I have finished my job application!!!

I can't submit the email form though as my long personal statement won't fit in the box they provide, so I'm going to print and hand deliver in the morning (it's at my offices so easy to do). I can't be faffed seeing if it will work online and I think it would lose the formatting anyway.

Thanks so much to hex for her help and advice! All I can say is, I'd employ me :rotfl:

Have caught up now, but sorry if I miss anyone! I went to see Evita at the theatre this afternoon (was my Christmas present to mum) and it was really good but I am shattered now  Have to get up early to put the car in for its MOT (fingers crossed), then try and sort out my dad's computer which may have a virus. And he is going in to hospital for his op on Fri so am trying not to freak.

Toots - hope today went well; ETA - just seen you've had a great day :D:j

rosepink - CBT is something I've been considering too; You sound brighter today and I'm glad. I, and others on here, know that the people that get left behind are definitely not better off. Well done on helping out the EL today - the drive sounds lovely!

    roxy and shell - welcome

mudbath - hugs and prayers for your dad

Just heard on the radio that all of Britain's warships are going to be based at Portsmouth. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket! Why did Pearl Harbour suddenly spring into my head?

:eek::eek: Thanks for that cheery thought! :p

Would just like to add my thoughts on what a wondeful thread this is. When I joined, I never imagined how much help, support and friendship I would get from it. You are all :A :A :A

    So would I :T

My client paid me by instant transfer so no worries on that front, the only debt is to the tax man,and no one is out of a job. Although maybe I shouldn't buy the stuff from Scotts of Stow in the sale :o.

Bedroom is now clean and habitable, so I am going to slope off for a nice badedas bath. Did you get your run too Sunnygirl?

I really must catch up tomorrow, trouble is between boys at home, both step sons here and DH off on holiday too and requiring my labouring assistance I just am not getting normal stuff done. I can't miss my stars though, she says panicing slightly.
