I started on the livingroom before checking, so I've done that and the hallway today. I'll post that when it turns up on the list! The livingroom is still not completely finished - I have curtains to hem (still - they've been there since Feb halfterm...) and more stuff to move on to the bookshelves. I didn't want to waste a lovely day indoors though - I'll try and do some of that this evening, or move a couple of items each time I go up and downstairs.

DS2 and I spent an hour and a half on the allotment, and cleared all but a small area of two beds, so I can lay a new path between them tomorrow. He also cut down the autumn raspberry canes, so a quick weed there and I can add some more woodchips, and that will be sorted for the year.

I'm off into town this afternoon, to look for a wedding outfit, although I shan't buy anything until DD is with me to approve - she's a brilliant personal shopper!

Hi to vivw - I was wondering where you were this week, and there you are!

rosepink - I found a drop of aromatherapy oil of Jasmine on a tissue under my pillow helped me feel better - but this is not to replace medical advice, and please do go see your GP or your support worker. Meantime, big hugs! DS1 was given a suggestion which we found helpful, which was scaling - on a 0-10 scale (0 is really down, 5 ordinary, and 10 over the top happy) Just monitor it a couple of times a day. Then, jot down a note about what you were doing at the time. Sometimes you can begin to see a pattern emerging. The next step is to work on evening it out, developing a coping stategy - again, this is not a substitute for proper medical advice, I'm just mentioning it because it helped him.

toots - will be thinking of you this pm.

Serena, that's a good point about the numbering thing. Evenings seem to be a real crisis point, just before bed I get really down and tearful. I can't work out why. I need to find a way to cope with this and find a way stop it happening! If I can work out what builds up to it, that would help a lot!
I definately am going to phone up the dr if I'm not picking up in the next few days. It should have passed by then though.

£55 a week is brill. How are you doing it ?
tag, what are your tips for saving on the weekly shop. Would love to hear them, no matter how teachy suck eggy they seem :rotfl:

I have a bit of a split personality with our weekly budget. Half of me hates having so little money and the other half relishes the challenge of seeing how far I can stretch it.

Mr Tag and I up until 6 months ago, used to think nothing of spending £150 a week plus, in the supermarket.:o In fact it was obscene what we would spend, on a lot of nothing.:o:o Then Mr Tag lost his job and reality bit. I've been through some very tight times before with my ex hubby, so knew what to expect. For Mr Tag it's a whole new experience.

Shopping around is the key really. I've discovered that the butchers in town is cheaper than going to Asda. Unless we hit Asda on a Thursday night or Friday afternoon when they 'Whoops' label their meat. I've bought enough meat for 3 weeks for less than £15 before now.;)

Bread, crumpets, muffins, pitta breads etc I always buy the decent ones that have been reduced. As many as will fit in the freezer. I will always buy decent bread not the cheapo rubbish stuff.

I've implimented the, start off with smart price brands and if we don't like them, move up method. That's on tinned stuff, biccies, crisps etc. Have to say the majority of them are ok. Except peas. I always buy Bird's Eye peas, others are like bullets. Ditto coffee and tea bags.

I've discovered the Smart price bio washing liquid at £1.47 for 2 ltrs is just as good as the best selling brands. It gets stains out and anything that is really tough gets neat star drops on it and soaked overnight. Job done;)

My household cleaning arsenal has been reduced to white vinegar (5ltrs from cash and carry for £3. I buy 2 a year), star drops (lasts forever 2 bottles a year tops), bleach, soda crystals, the occasional purchase of cilit bang for the oven (when I'm feeling lazy:o) and a stand by anti bac spray. Plus about 6 micro fibre cloths. That's it.

I spend a lot of time comparing prices in store as well. I'm not drawn into 'offers' unless it is something that I would normally buy. And some 'offers' really aren't what they seem at times either. Especially if your only saving 4p buy buying 3 of something.

The car is only used on strictly nessecary journeys. All other times we walk.

Obviously the biggest savings will be made once all the stuff we're growing can be used. I can't wait:j Plus we'll have the chickens come the summer for some eggs as well. The amount of chickens has increased from 2 to 4 now:rolleyes:

Everything I do I've learnt from this fabulous site and it's fabulous posters.:j The wealth of information and encouragement that is available here is amazing. :j And the 'flylady' board is my favs.:D Thanks to pigpen (for the nagging) and Toots (for the encouragement) I can now ebay. Don't ask about the first item I listed:eek::rotfl:

That'll do for now I think as it's turned into a rather long post and pigpen will tell me off:o. PM me if you want to chat more.

Just to keep on topic .............I'm off to hang the towels out, catch up with the rest of the thread and post a list;)
