Didn't do anything yesterday.
Did a boot fair with my mum in the morning and then got bombarded with phone calls from my estranged husband (EH).
I'm still not totally clear what was going on his end but the calls were "slured" and got more and more abusive, so he may have been drunk or stoned I'm unsure.
He even called my mum's mobile and my parents house where MY children and my dad were. My dad is not well, he suffered brain damage and speech problems caused by epilepsy so you can imagine how upsetting it was for them.
I didn't call the police as I have previously as I've found that can cause even more problems, but I told my daughter if he turned up there she was to phone the police straight away.
By the evening I ended up taking the phone off the hook and turning my mobile off. I finally fell asleep with a headache on the sofa.
Well, today is another day and I have lots of catching up to dobut I'm feeling as long as my living room and kitchen are ok the washing machine delivery man won't think I'm a tramp when he comes tomorrow

I use something called Microsoft Money - it's brilliant and lets me plan ahead (you can put in all your bills/credits, including monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc and it inserts them all in automatically for you) I then check online nearly every day to see what has come in/gone out, mark as cleared on Money and this takes me about 2 minutes. then statements at the end of the month take about 1 minute literally and you can use it for all accounts, cards, savings, etc. Also lets me know if a dodgy payment has come out, or more usually, one that I've forgotten. I know it is another Microsoft thingy, but there are loads of other options too I believe (Quicken rings a bell?) so you might be able to get something else if you don't want to get on the MS bandwagon...:rotfl:PM me if you want to know more...
I have looked at MS Money, and for several years I used Quicken, but now I use Moneydance, which is better and friendlier than either of them imho. Not free, but not expensive, and makes all the money-stuff very easy to keep track of :-)0 -
Pigpen – A couple of things that help me if I am woken in the night. I try very hard not to think – the minute the old inner dialogue starts then I am stuck awake. To block it I do ‘sleep, sleep, sleep ‘ in my head till I am back in bed.
I try to name something starting with each letter of the alphabet - for example, a vegetable or fruit starting with each letter. Asparagus, broccoli, carrots...and so on. It keeps my mind from whirling with all the other stuff that might keep me awake, but it's so boring that it usually makes me fall asleep quickly LOL0 -
Jo - I have some folding crates that I keep in the boot of the car. That way if I haven't taken bags in, I unload into those, which are much easier to cart in and out of the house!
I'm now clean... off to find breakfast (by the sounds of it, my mother is out in the garden with the gardener working out what needs doing)0 -

Morning everyone, hope you managed some sleep Pigpen, sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture! Surely (ex?) hubby has to share some of the responsibility of looking after the kids so you can get a break? How are you managing to fit studying in? If i was wearing a hat i would take it off to you - i dont know how you fit everything in.
Can't do bedroom just now as hubby is sleeping so will defrost my freezer instead, it is desperately needing done and i've ordered a lot of meat from Waitrose so need to get it emptied and cleaned before it arrives.
I have a rabbit trying to climb my leg:rolleyes: Think she may want fed.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I have a couple of those that I bought, oh, nearly 20 years ago (oh that's made me feel old...) - I've also more recently bought a couple of Ikea's huge big blue bags - they're dirt-cheap but they're pretty much the same thing. The small Ikea bags are quite useful too - 25p each and they are great for stuff like library books, swimming kits, etc.0
